A wealthy 71 year old man with a wife, 3 kids, and grandchildren committing suicide is just sad.

When you have bipolar suicidal thoughts, liberal Hollywood isn’t gonna save you. You need the Bible.

Enjoyed him in the Long Riders along with his brothers, the Keach brothers and the Quaid brothers. One of the best and most historically accurate movies made about the James-Younger gang.

Society seems to be entering into some different norms these days, but seeing even this - someone I don't know - dying by his own hands is still shocking and unbelievably sad. Coincidentally there's an event tonight at LSU put on by a great family, sharing their own story and doing what they can to help others. There's a lot of folks who post on this board who know them, and know others that have been advocating for their message to be spread.

It's happening more and more and more. This is not ok. What are we doing to ourselves?

He played Bob Younger on The Long Riders. One of my favorite Westerns. Also had David & Keith Carradine, Stacy & James Keach, & Dennis & Randy Quaid.

RIP. This truly makes me sad.

I've heard him interviewed a couple of times by Rob Word and he was always sincere and entertaining.

When I read the OP my first thought was suicide.
I’ve lost several friends, and almost lost my daughter to suicide. Tough knowing people get to that point in their lives.
RIP.

Suicide is the obvious risk, but they die more frequently of all causes. One theory is the long term stress of the condition causes inflammation in the body.

Watched the movie with kids (teens) this past weekend. Wife and I had the same discussion.

Could you imagine the outrage if that movie was released today!

If you live in Canada you won’t need bipolar disorder to want to off yourself.

I know the struggle. Lithium can work wonders. If you are struggling, get help.
