The war was not about slavery

People will not forget about this.
But New Orleans and its citizens, the productive ones anyway, will persevere and move on. They always do. This city has survived a lot worse than Mitch Landrieu and his petty little race-baiting statue removal stunt.
And I think this stunt is going to backfire politically, at least on a state level. The governor could have stepped in to at least try to stop this, instead he let senate president John Alario kill the proposed legislation that would have put this to a vote. People will remember this at the polls.

Equally guilty. Walk off the job if you don't like people hating your actions

When you start pissing off your base of workforce for true wage earning jobs (engineering, manufacturing, finance, etc.) that then support the service industry as tourism ebbs and flows, you've got an economic challenge that's hard to reverse.
Are NOLA workers going to lunch in Metarie? And if you "boycott NOLA" you aren't hurting the politicians, you are hurting the small business owner and restauranteurs. If that is the intent, have at it. It's about as consequential to the businesses as Ferguson riots. And I will shake my head at the odd logic of it too.

"Lincoln also told (Fremont) that freeing the slaves---which Union elected leaders had taken pains in the Crittenden-Johnson resolution of July 1861 to assure the country was not the goal of the war---could, among other things, cost the Union the support of Kentucky, one of the Union-friendly slaveholding "border states"

John Alario is just as responsible for this as Mitch Landrieu and people need to remember this when it is time for his reelection too.

Have you seen Bourbon Street? Canal? NOLA in general? You could say its remnants of a hurricane and any out-of-towner would believe it.

Every race has been enslaved at some point in history. Get over it. Slavery is history for all races.
If it wasn't for slavery, entire bloodlines would have been eliminated from genocide from African warlords. You don't see the Jewish people going after the Egyptians, do you.
Or going after art in Germany. Now they are amongst the most powerful people in the world.
Some bloodlines of people leave the victim hood behind, pick themselves up by their bootstraps and better themselves as a majority... others do not.

No dumbfrick, because y'all literally aren't intelligent enough to run that equipment and are going to get hurt.
I know it kills you to have to ask the white man for help, but maybe this time you'd at least want to have an engineer take a look at your plan before you get two poor bastards 100+ feet in the air.
Also, I 100% realize you are trolling, and am not sure why I am biting.
