I didn’t know that,I wondered why cops don’t carry billy clubs anymore.
When I was on Navy Shore Patrol we weren’t allowed to carry guns off base,onlynight sticks I had a guy pull a knife on me.I ended up wacking him across the hand,broke it.It wasn’t a close quarter situation like those cops were facing though.
I’ve often wondered if I would have shot him if I would have had a gun.
It was pretty funny listening to him cussing me on the way to hospital about me breaking his hand.

Not sure if anyone on here is Police or Military, but I would think the doorway shouldn’t have been that congested in order to prevent that pile up at the end.

They probably overestimated their power in the situation. One small woman with a knife. I’m surprised the bean bags didn’t take her out initially.

does seem to me these type incidents where the suspect does not have a gun, and it is not surprise attack that a shite ton of mace and a few billy clubs is a better course of action. Both for the suspect and for the cops having to live with the knowledge they took someone's life.
