I love my 2016 but I have the itch for a raptor or Ram RHO. Waiting for my son to start driving so I can give him my truck. He’s 12 so it’ll be a while.
I know people love to shite on them, but I'd buy another F150 with the ecoboost without hesitation.

Unless you get the 6.6L, I agree with this statement!
We just had to replace a 6.6 on a two year old truck with 70k

I’m keeping 2014 Silverado until the wheels fall off

My ram 1500 made it 19k miles before I had to trade it. Bought brand new last spring. Went into shop twice. 2 fuel pumps. Check engine light came on again and it was sputtering. New fuel pump number 3 was coming. Jumped ship to gmc sierra. So far so good but haven’t made it to oil change yet.
That's wild they still have that issue. Had one 20 years ago I had to get rid of when I realized I needed to change the pump the 4th time!

Thread is full of bad advice. No one bitches about stuff when it works.
Drive them all, decide what you like, know going into it that they are all very close as far as reliability. Resale maybe a little more variation.
I've had ram and GM and have had none of the issues that this thread talks about.
But but my friends friend has a cousin that had a transmission replaced under 20k buy a Toyota!

I have a 2020 Tundra TSS 4x4 with only 31k miles. Just curious what do you think the value is?
just an opinion but I doubt you could put a realistic value on something like that compared to all of the other 1/2 ton trucks that is out there right now. Mechanical reliability wise, nothing out there in the truck world today in 1/2 ton trucks is going to be in the same category as a 20 tundra 4x4 w/ ~30K miles.. Sure the newer stuff may have more gadgets and tech but frick that, you have an awesome truck, I would make upgrades or changes where necessary to scratch the itch of wanting something new before I got rid of that. If you have cloth seats, replace with Katskins, if you have chrome bumpers and grill get color matched wrap, audio your thing, replace it buy speakers and and new head unit, try different wheels tires, etc., etc.
Keep that truck

Depends. If you really need the size and towing then the F-250 is unmatched IMO. I’m on my 5th Power Stroke and chose the King Ranch. However if all you need is a 1/2 ton gas then I’d get a GMC with the old reliable 5.3L V8 or maybe the 6.2 V8 but I’d stay away from those baby Duramax engines. I still have my 2003 GMC Z71 on the ranch back home and I can be gone over a year and it fires right up. Got about 170,000 on the odometer and all but about its first 1,000 miles have been lifted on 37” tires and it never gives me a problem.

Toyota really fricked up with their engine overhaul.
They should’ve kept the 5.7 as an option. But they might’ve been forced to change bc of EPA rules

Get the 3.5 ecoboost or the 5.0 coyote and don’t look back. Yes there are issues with these trucks. But they have tried and proven engines. They do not recommend the crap 0w20 oil like all other manufacturers. Instead sticking with the proven 5w20/30 oil which is much better at resisting breakdown.

2.7 yes, 3.5 no

You're dim if you buy brand new.
Sure about that? Used will be close to new and a new will have warranty.

Buy an F150 with the 5.0. Solid engine with plenty of power and good mileage.

I like my Nissan Frontier. When you need a truck but don't have to tow much all the time. Interior wise it packs for a fishing weekend exactly the same as my 2014 Ram did.
I have pulled my 25 foot Chaparral a couple of miles to the launch with it...It handled it better than I thought it would.

2021 or older Toyota tundra
This is the only answer. It should be criminal for the gubmint to have forced Toyota to scrap the best motor they ever made. I wonder if that was even done by law, or by EPA rules. The SCOTUS ruled that we have a congress and do not have a bureaucratic branch of government to pass laws.

Consumer Reports recommends the F-150 in their 2026 Auto Issue. Even made it a "top pick".
The hybrid and 2.7 were the preferred power sources but didn't trash the 3.5 or the 5.0.
