I like to be able to spot the dumbasses, so I say let 'em spout whatever nonsense they want until they start organizing violence

Do you even comprehend how absurd a suggestion something like that is, especially when it is regarding the Holocaust?

It is more dangerous to censor people. Let them speak. It tells you what you need to know about them.

That is a perfect example of the type or speech that MUST be protected.
A) it is highly unpopular (popular speech doesn't typically need protecting);
B) it is backward looking, so not akin to yelling fire in a crowded theater or planning an Antifa terrorist riot;
C) while it may be sick, it doesn't specifically "appeal to the prurient interest," to the extent that still matters;
D) it doesn't defame anyone in particular;
E) no intellectual property is involved;
F) it isn't specifically intended to defraud anyone (could be used to, but then so can literally any statement).
This is why America for now is still the best major nation in the world. For now.

Only if they force academics to also teach the brutal history of socialism and communism as well.
Academics seem to love talking of the horrific Holocaust, but ignore the far lefts worst demons. Also should talk far more of the evil of Japan during WW2 and not make them a victim because of the bombs. They were absolute evil..and deserved the A bombs.

No that’s fricking stupid. If someone denies the Holocaust, listen to their argument and form a well informed rebuttal like a normal person who is lucky enough to have “freedom of speech”, or whatever’s left of it.
You shouldn’t fear speech if the other person is wrong and you have the freedom to respond however you’d like

The party of majority power in the US has open anti-Semites that encourage violence against Jews in elected positions in Congress, think they are going to pass those kind of laws?
Posted on 1/23/21 at 12:14 am to GardenDistrictTiger
The government would never stop finding speech to restrict. No thanks.
Posted on 1/23/21 at 12:17 am to GardenDistrictTiger
So thought crimes, right?

Let's don't kid ourselves. Jewish politicians with dual citizenship and with the deep pockets of Jewish businessmen call the shots. The anti Israeli group while vocal is small and without any real backing.

It’s a god damned shame we are even debating a thought crime.

It's coming. I agree with you but it's coming.

No American would agree with this.

1st among equals
I love the 1st amendment it makes it easy to tell who the stupid are.

I think we should pass a law that requires discussing the other 60 million or so people that died during World War 2.

Turn the tables and be a slavery denier, atomic bomb denier, etc.

I'm not understanding your point. Holocaust denial as I understand it isn't about denying that any of it took place. In my mind it most certainly did. I do believe that a discussion about what is truth and fiction is healthy. It doesn't sully the memory of the lost but serves to keep them in the forefront. There are many disingenuous people who have made claims. They should be exposed to honor those who died.

I'm staying out of this one.
