School districts would never, ever, inflate grades to increase the college acceptance rates they report! Never!
This is the reason almost no teachers, unions, or school districts want testing. It's a state or nationwide measure of performance, and educators absolutely hate metrics. Then you can compare poor black districts with poor African or hispanic districts, etc., and make judgements on the capabilities of the school, district and teachers. Can't have that.

Remove the Governor’s ability to appoint the entire BoS. That just makes the Board both comprised of campaign contributors, and scared to buck the Gubnah. Jeffy doesn’t GAF about LSU. Put ppl on the Board who really want to improve LSU.
Figure out some funding mechanism that doesn’t force the school to go kiss the Legislature’s arse every year for $. The constant funding battles just makes everything precarious, and don’t allow long term planning.

Agree Board should be independent of Governor. JBE really screwed LSU. Tate was a disaster but because F King was even worse people think Tate was good

2. You cannot possibly breathalyze every person on campus and what about their rights? It isn't illegal to get drunk. The only thing LSU could do if someone was falling down drunk is refuse them entry into the stadium for safety and liability issues.

While I’ll agree with the sentiment, I’m of the opinion that this is a State school, and the children of any tax paying parents should be allowed to attend regardless of admission standards. Sure, you can have standards for the individual colleges, but at no point should anyone be turned away for attending a class. Not saying everyone gets a “pass” grade and a degree, but if someone is willing to pay for a course, and the professor is getting paid to teach it, then that person should be allowed to attend.
The whole point of public universities is to improve the state’s populous. Let the people who want to improve themselves do so. Let the employers weed out those they don’t want based off of scholastic performance, not the taxpayer funded universities.
Just my “liberal rant from your staunch conservative and dedicated libertarian” for the day.

For your troupe, you can go to NLU, USL, Grambling or another state funded school. Paying taxes into the grift scheme that is the state of Louisiana does not grant your kids the right to go to any school. Start at BRCC or SLU and earn your way in to a school where you won't end up a Chilis server with an MBA. Which is also not usually LSU, because people want "culture" over a 200% pay raise in 2 years. But then bitch about money.
