Several street lights have been clipped over the last couple years as well.
And don't get me started about The Bengal apartment complex just North of the Vet School on River Road. Someone is always pulling out of there and getting T-boned.

At least that is a little understandable. Its right there in the curve by Aster, etc., and the trees probably prevent a good line of sight. Pulling out of some of those places is basically an exercise in luck at peak traffic times.

This was a fatality. We were cycling around 9am on the levee and saw the body as the coroner was pulling up. Still haven’t seen a news article on it yet.

That's what I was thinking. I thought a cyclist/jogger probably seen the car and reported it.
A lot of people were standing around when I got to the intersection, I guess coroner had already left.
Crazy. I wonder if it was suicide. I have been trying to look for updates but nothing.
Probably happened early morning and some one reported it when they went for their jog/bike ride.
Car is not really that damaged, wonder if the person was ejected or partial and they got crushed under.

During the investigation, detectives learned the driver of a 2020 Honda Accord, who was identified as Lem Washington, 44, was killed.
Washington was headed west on Brightside Drive at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Brightside and River Road. Washington exited the roadway and traveled to the top of the levee, which caused his car to be airborne. The Accord reached the bottom of the levee and proceeded to flip and land on the roof.
Police said Washington was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash but was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed that the crash happened between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.
