The mayor and police chief will call for peaceful protests. Expect a bunch of morons to try to march over the Seigen Ln overpass.

Probably that it was gerrymandered, or some such.

Their own damn fault if that is their claim.

First time around, which never got to a vote, was killed by challenging signatures from a bunch of areas which didn’t get included this time around.

Maybe they shouldn’t have fricked with the signatures and let it get on the ballot to fail instead of tanking it under questionable circumstances.

Here is the law that allows for such a suit and which describes the burden of proof.

SG officials have stated publicly that the reason they left some spots out is because those were areas that didn't want to be part of SG. That makes sense, but legally speaking they'll at least have standing to say that they were gerrymandered out.

If it turns out that most of the people cut out were black and most that were left in were white then you're going to have some problems. It may get tied up in the courts for a while.

You'll have to deal with having better municipal services than Livingston Parish for cheaper, at least for a little while longer..

As far as city services you mean similar to not getting ditches cleaned, pot holes that take 10 calls to 311 only fixed after 2 yrs, and garbage service that has been spotty for years done by a subcontractor for Republic Services.

We will be okay and the services using private contractors should be a lot more responsive.

Garbage, being the fifth largest city I bet we can get a good rate versus Livingston Parish that uses subscriber service. There is probably a lot of companies that want to bid it out and republic can not afford to lose this area.

Reasons.

None of them have any merit, which is why the StG lawyers should seek sanctions from the City/Parish and their lawyers.
