A few years back, my wife made Italian for Thanksgiving. 4 or 5 different dishes and I would much rather have it than Turkey dressing and all the typical fixing

everyone getting together for thanksgiving has fallen apart in our family
our big family deal is Christmas now
my parents are in Vegas
wife’s parents are in hawaii
my brothers and my sister, wife’s brohers are all going separate ways
even my daughter is going to her BFs for thanksgiving dinner
I would host (we have in the past and are quite good at it) but no one wants to travel to Houston from Louisiana
so it will be me, mrs supa and my son going to Eddie V’s Restaurant in River Oaks and getting it on for Thanksgving dinner and I am actually more than fine with that
Eddie V’s and not having to host or travel is a nice consolation prize

Yup. We eat smoked turkey 3 or 4 times a year. It will never rival beef or pork in my opinion but it’s good for something different.
