Oyster dressing is the best and only dressing you should make.

the best part about thanksgiving is the thanksgiving leftovers sandwich. Therefore I cut to the chase and go straight to the sandwich

Sweet ham sucks. Save the pineapple and cherries for the upside down cake.

NBC claims you can feed 10 people Thanksgiving dinner for $58.08. Louisiana Farm Bureau says in Louisiana the cost is $45.84 for 10 people.

I once made a lemon pepper turkey for Thanksgiving. Fresh out of the oven, it was fantastic.

Thanksgiving is likely best enjoyed by single people.
Having to attend gatherings with both your own family and later at your in-laws’ place is tiresome.

Homemade, baked-in-the-oven Mac and cheese absolutely should be a Thanksgiving dish. Kraft, absolutely not.

Hot take: any kind of cranberry jelly is terrible, unnecessary, and not missed.

My sister (no pics) married a career Navy guy. Their first Thanksgiving together she made fancy cranberry sauce from scratch. He wouldn't eat it and she had to open up a can of the stuff they served in the chow hall.
My hot take: sweet potatoes

Inviting homewrecking transsexuals to Thanksgiving makes the meal better, not worse.

Turkey is just ok. I'm here for the sides

I’m seeing a lot of turkey hate
1) Kamado-grilled turkey is a phenomenal meat
2) on the question, “does turkey just suck?” I invite anyone with a sous vide to buy a breast, salt, pepper, an aromatic herb such as rosemary + a citrus (two lemon slices) and let it go about 4 hours (forget recommended temp, but if you’re a sous vide user, you’re used to looking up times and temps). The intrinsic turkey flavor at the consistency of a 4-hour sous vide cook is wonderful.
3) at the end of the day, strip the bird, bake the bones at 350 for another hour, break them, boil them, then toss the rest of the meat in a gumbo. It’s my favorite gumbo of the year, and I consider cooking a whole turkey on the pit every time I want gumbo now

My arse. I love thanksgiving food. It’s like Christmas but you don’t have to worry about all the presents
