Literally is annoying as you stated. But at least it's a real word and not "baw.". That's obnoxious, especially when there's a reach to use it.

It’s worse than that, because these people think “literally” means “very”, so they use it to mean the exact opposite of what it really means. When using figurative language they plug in the word “literally”.
Example: “My head literally exploded when I heard that.”
Example: “My head literally exploded when I heard that.”
