These are necessary these days thanks to Boomer politicians bringing so many criminals into our country from 3rd world shitholes

The younger generation are miserable little shits that have embraced the somebody elses fault victim mentality. And when you tell them the truth about how to get ahead and get your feet on the ground they throw a temper tantrum and explain whose fault it is that their liberal arts degree cost 200,000 and they’re working at fricking Starbucks.

Things I as a Boomer (Gen Jones type, almost Gen X) still do not pay for:

quote:

Pet insurance
Oil changes
Someone to replace our air filter
Someone to change our tire
Car wash subscriptions
Uber eats - Why?
Brand new vehicles - Most people had a brand new vehicle in the 60s and 70s, you are full of crap
Dating apps - Why?
Doggy day care - Why?
House cleaning - yes they did pay for house cleaning
Home camera systems

Lots of the things nobody needs to pay for on this list. I'm a 63 year old widow and replace my own air filters. I wash my own car. My dog is fine home alone. I pay for my vet visits like I always have.

Some of these things are just weird.

House cleaning100% they did.

It was very common in the south for upper middle class families to have a black maid/nanny

The movie “The Help” wasn’t far off. I know several people who were basically raised by a black nanny because their parents were too busy to be a parent

Pet insurance - Agreed. Ridiculous
Oil changes - do you mean at a service station or just in general? Because you 100% has to pay for filters and oil
Someone to replace our air filter - fair, but cars used to be made to allow home work
Someone to change our tire - most people still don’t pay for this.
Lawn services - horse shite. The first time I’ve ever seen someone pay for a lawn service were friends of my parents, that are boomers.
Car wash subscriptions - fair
Uber eats - yep. Stupid expensive.
Restaurants outside special occasions - agreed kind of
Streaming TV services (worthless) - same thing as cable, or are you saying to use rabbit ears?
Brand new vehicles - bull crap. Boomers, like every other generation, bought new vehicles
Dating apps - because they didn’t exist. But yes the overwhelming majority of boomers met the old fashioned way
College loans - because you didn’t have too due to the costs of college. Also, boomers are the ones that voted in federally backed student loans
Doggy day care - agreed. This is stupid on a daily basis, although I’ve seen more boomers drop their little mittens off than any other demographic when I board my dogs before a trip
House cleaning - bull shite. Boomers were the first generation that had maids available to the masses and not just the wealthy elites
HOAs - HOA’s are majority boomers now and have been for a long time.
Home camera systems - like security cameras? I didn’t realize this was a massive expense.

There were very few upper middle class families where I grew up. In my neighborhood lived the superintendent of schools and the city engineer, and they werent upper middle class.

The upper middle is a recent event in the South, most of us are no more than two generations from dirt farmers.

People did everything themselves, including housework and car maintenance. If you couldnt work on a car, you were fricked.

things boomers didnt do:

Parent

They facilitated, but didn't parent. Providing opportunities was good enough for them, and most were never modeled how to actually be involved.

Think about the people who parented Boomers, and you'll learn a lot about the way they are

Poor people who don't pay into the system yet still receive the same benefits. Normally more benefits because they leech of the system for their entire lives.
