What's wrong with Midol and/or Advil?
NSAIDs can cause low amniotic fluid which can lead to lung function issues in the fetus and they can also cause kidney issues for the developing child.

NSAID's haven't been recommended during pregnancy for a while.

Those can cause fetal toxicity.

Probably because NSAIDs are a muscle relaxer and blood thinner I would guess, but not 100% sure.

No. The research for decades has been no causal link. This administration is medically retarded.

They can actually kill the fetus.

My first thought was what did the CEO of Tylenol do to piss him off?

Man what’s Trump’s opinion on Tylenol! I’m unclear.
Listening to him is difficult to comprehend, but read what he says and it makes no sense in anything he says, ever.
RFK talking about never seeing a 70 year old man with autism hasn’t looked in the mirror or met with the homeless. He has no clue. The only thing he associates with outside of his circle is dead bears to feed his brain worm.
Good grief this is a damn clown show.

From Cleveland Clinic:
quote:
Let’s take a quick look back at the recent history of Tylenol and autism.
A 2018 meta-analysis of seven studies involving 132,738 pairs of mothers and children showed a 20% higher risk of autism and a 30% higher risk of ADHD for children who had prolonged exposure to acetaminophen during fetal development.
But the 2024 research found that taking acetaminophen during pregnancy didn’t increase risks. Results show that there was a “noncausal association” (no direct cause and effect) between neurodevelopmental disorders and acetaminophen.
“Acetaminophen is still the safest known drug to take during pregnancy for problems like fever and pain,” states Dr. Zanotti. “When you’re pregnant, it’s riskier to have an untreated fever than it is to take acetaminophen.”

I am kind of waiting on the first TikTok progressive to take a whole bottle of Tylenol in protest...
Given that crew, there will likely be thousands of them do it.

Is there actual research behind this?
No. There was a small correlation in an observational study. However, this was likely spurious because:
1) The effect disappeared after sibling control analyses
And
2) there was no dose-response observed either.
But RFK had to find something.

Hope you don't have stock in Tylenol...
It will be interesting to see if anyone in the administration shorted Kenvue, Inc. (owner of Tylenol brand) stock.

The recent years have made me put less stock in "un-biased studies) than I did before. I don't completely distrust them, and I believe the people doing the research are good people, but I was shocked at how easily the results can be manipulated. Reminded me of the "massaged reports" I was tasked with creating when I worked in market research. The data is good...the interpretation is what is questionable.
That being said, I think we can all agree that Americans are addicted to OTC medications and we just assume they are safe because they are on a shelf. We take too much for every minor little ailment. So, I think any medication should not be allowed to advertise in any form of media and we should actively discourage (culturally) over reliance on any medication because something is objectively wrong with the health of the people of the richest nation in the world, and it damn sure isn't the availability of gyms or quality healthcare.

You and RFK must've went to the same "medical skool".

Seems we should have heard something about this if the research bears this out.
Pharmaceutical companies will often do their own testing and HEAVILY manipulate the data to make drugs seems safe when they know it’s not.
I’m obviously not saying that’s happening with Tylenol but pharmaceutical companies have been risking people’s health for profit for a very long time. Look up biggest pharmaceutical lawsuits.
Posted on 9/22/25 at 5:13 pm to N2cars
Aw yes, I must attend medical school to have the opinion that maybe waking up to take a handful of pills at the age of thirty might have a few deleterious effects and should be discouraged rather than promoted.
Silly me.
I'll just over here taking my safe, non-addictive Oxy for my high school football injury.
