Me too. I hated it but a flat deductible instead of a percentage made me bend over a take it. Other market offerings weren't that much better for me so it wasn't as bad I guess.

Chicken needs to produce and stream a TD Rough N' Rowdy to settle these kinds of things.

When it was originally founded only officers could join.
I had it in the late 80s early 90s when it was only officers. It expanded in the late 90s to include enlisted and reservists. I went a different route when I got out so I have stayed up on eligibility.

Got to pay for those Gronk commercials. USAA is not remotely the company they once were. They diluted the risk pools to the point of being unaffordable. And why would USAA need to advertise anyway. If you're in the military and don't know about USAA you're too stupid to be in the military.

Lol with who? Progressive dropped us. We got stuck with Cajun Underwriters. USAA finally starting writing for us - much cheaper.

Paid cash for my house and haven’t carried home insurance for 8 years. I bought in a risk adverse area and have made risk adverse decisions to protect it myself.
Prior to that owned homes for 15+ years and never made one claim. F*** ‘em.

We've kinda outgrown the need for insurance. The cost exceeds the benefit unless you scam the insurance company. So POS insurance people and POS scammer people make out ok, and respectable people pay for it.

Risk Averse: This term describes individuals who prefer to avoid risk and are more likely to choose safer options, often prioritizing security over potential higher returns.
Risk Adverse: This term is less commonly used and is often a misinterpretation of "risk averse". It is not standard in financial or behavioral contexts.
In summary, "risk averse" is the correct term to describe a preference for avoiding risk, while "risk adverse" is generally considered incorrect.

Spell it how you will, but I’m not giving some POS crook $3000/year in case my house magically combusts and burns to the ground. I’ll take my chances, hoss.

All of them are going up from what I can see. I used to have USAA and I price new policies every year. All the quotes are higher this year.

I've had it for more than 20 yrs.
They've allowed children of enlisted to join for over 20 years so I'm not buying this as causation.
Home insurance is going up across issuers.

I've been a USAA member for over 50 years.
Have also been grumbling for a few years about broadening the membership criteria. Service isn't what it was in years past and there is no longer the loyalty to the customer base that was there as well.
Every time I see a USAA commercial, I get pissed off as that is money that could go in my Subscriber Services Account and eventually back into my pocket.

If I had to just guess what hypothetically happened is USAA takes their membership for granted. Members were extremely loyal and referred all their fellow vets. It just became stagnant across the board as a company.

Dropped USAA years ago and have zero regrets
