Toyota or Honda. Hold their value better, less maintenance issues and high on safety. They last well beyond 100k miles.

Isn't honda part of the recent airbag recall?

A late 90s truck.
My vote would be a 12v Cummins Ram. It's a tank and it'll run until the earth stops turning.

Can't go wrong with a corolla or a Camry.

Honestly I would put my daughter in a well maintained older Mercedes W140 S Class 95-99. Made of steel, decent gas mileage (24hwy). Their only drawback is they are expensive to maintain. That or an older Volvo. But they are solid, weighted, and a good machine.

A '60-'64 Corvair is what you seek.

Whatever has the most room in the back seat. Maybe an suv so you can lay the seats down and have some real room back there

Any one of those cars sound great. What's more important is teaching that young lady how to drive. Find a parking lot with a lot of space. Show her the most common accident causing behaviors. Teach her how dangerous texting and driving is. Show her how dangerous tailgating is. Teach her the limits of acceleration and braking on any car you buy as well as cornering. Push the limits in a controlled environment before she gets on the road. Show her how important it is to keep a bubble of space between her car and all other drivers. Don't worry about her having the safest car on the road. Make sure she's the safest person on the road....

Subaru make a great car. Very reliable, cheap on gas and safe.

Camry, Accord, or Altima. 3 of the top selling also so should be plenty.

Get an Accord with a manual. That way she has to pay attention and learn how to drive. Both feet and hands occupied means no texting while driving.

I drove one last week and came away very impressed. Lots of bang for the buck.
