I get bit at least once a day by ants in the summertime while I'm out in the yard doing work or tending the other stuff out there. I really hate wearing shorts and having to do some yard work or going fishing and getting tore up by red bugs. I would much rather get nailed by yellow jacket or a wasp, then deal with red bugs for a week. I hate them bastards

The wasp spray sold in stores only works on wasps it contacts. Once it dries its worthless.

Bayer makes a fly spray called quick bayt. Spray a little at the entrance in it kills them all. It's got the same stuff in it that is used in the drops you put on pets for fleas. It has saved me an untold amount of stings

It was a black can labeled Hornet spray sold at Lowe's. It was useless, I got as close as I could and sprayed directly into the hole until they came out, all angry at me.

I ran over a yellow jacket nest 2 years ago while mowing. Got stung 5 times in less than 90 secs. They followed my arse across, the yard and got hit one more time before getting inside. Went out after dark and poured some gas in the hole.

Carpenter bees. The bee with the yellow dot on its head is the male and aggressive but has no stinger. The smaller with a plain head is the female and she can sting.

Yellowjackets are why I have a cab tractor. Years ago I was in an open cab and disked up a big nest. Those bastards chased me across a 65 acre pasture. I think I was stung about 15-20 times. Vomited. Thought I was going to die before I got back to the barn and drank a bottle of benedryl.

Bought the cab that fall.

Honey bees won’t do anything to you

They only sting you if they need to protect themselves because you are hurting them.

Their stinger breaks off and pull a part of their abdomen off and they die if they sting you. So they rarely sting.

I never understand why people freak and want to kill honey bees

I'm not sure I 100% agree with you Lou.

Used to rob bee trees growing up. Wild bees here tend to be what we call a Black Bee. They are meaner than a domestic honey bee. Out in the woods if you get too close to a bee tree they get stirred up.

I have broken some stuff and hurt myself doing crazy shite trying to get away from anything that can fly and sting. Damn near jump off my roof several years ago with went up to repair a piece of flashing at my chimney. Neighbor was helping (holding the ladder) and damn near pissed his pants laughing.

Ok…story time.

When I was five, we were at a state park. They had a water fountain that turned on by pushing a lever down. There was a red wasp nest built on the underside of the handle inside the housing around the fountain. When impressed it down it crushed the nest and 5 or 6 wasp flew out and directly up my shirt. It was loose and hanging away from my body as I had leaned over the fountain. Those bastards stung my chest and stomach repeatedly.
Ever since that day, I have had an irrational fear of bees, any kind of bees. I once was pushing mowing a yard and a wasp buzzed by my head. I ducked real quick and broke my nose on the push bar of the mower. Hate those frickers!!!!!

Anything marketed as was killer is trash. Use brake cleaner. It kills them in a different way. Brake cleaner melts their wings. If they fly into a speck of it they’ll drop.

Don’t shoot a nest with a 12 gauge. I learned the hard way that this is an ineffective approach at eliminating them.

Arkansas got me too, not far from Hot Springs. That’s a beautiful area, but the chiggers will keep me away, and I only had four bites on feet and ankles. Can’t imagine the head to toe invasion, but I’ve heard they attack the crotch area, so condolences on that experience.

true story: we have wasps nest ALL OVER outside our house, under the deck, eaves, etc.

but they dont seem to be aggressive in the least; i'll come home and a few will be sunning on the wooden railings and they just fly away while i'm fumbling with what i'm holding trying to open the door.

live and let live. i even feel bad if i see one dying on the inside of our windows and i'll pick him up on a piece of paper and toss him outside to give him a chance.

however, the second one of them decides to frick with me, i got 4 extra large cans of wasp spray in the garage ready to go scorched earth

eta this is in TN. when i lived in monroe, the red stingers of fire were assholes and always ready to chase me the second i walked outside. i'm not sure what the difference is; maybe its just not as hot here so they're not so pissed off all the time.

I need to trim my front bushes. I am purposely not doing it because I know they have a wasps nest in one of them. It kills me though because I can’t not cut it until winter.

Btw bugb gone does not kill wasps.
