I knew a guy that sold appliances for Sears. He said he made 70-80k a year pulling an hourly rate plus commission.
Knew some guys at Lowes that made about that much selling appliances, not the case there anymore.

Walmart Manager
True story. Had a friend who was a few years older than me. Started working at the Walmart in Ruston in the mid 80’s as a stocker. Became a Manager and took the stock option.
Retired at 40.

Well I’m a electrical lineman. What would y’all think we make?
I'm surprised nobody posted that OT number yet.
In Texas, probably a good bit with overtime because there seems to be a shortage. 85-90k.

When I graduated from college I was surprised at the difference in engineering starting salaries between industries. I only interviewed with one oil company and was shocked at their offer compared to the average starting salary for ME’s. My offer was 25% higher than the average, which was typical for petrochemical companies. My grades weren’t anything to brag about either. Most people I knew didn’t realize the salary differences and didn’t interview in the petrochemical industry. Most of them, even those with really good GPA’s, all accepted offers much less than me. It’s kinda funny that I decided at the last minute to pick one oil company to interview with just for grins.

BLS has it at 73k. Not a lot of money.
Pretty sure he meant pilot. Captains don't make the big money on the Mississippi, it's the pilots. At least that is my understanding.

I know. It's crazy. People don't believe how much their managers make.
They hear the name Walmart, and automatically think no money.

It ranges really. When Hurricane Rita and Katrina hit down here, I made almost 175K with all the OT we worked.

Assistant to the manager at a mid-size northeast paper company

Depending on the school system, their degree level, certifications, and how the stipends are paid a high school football coach and athletic director can make a nice little yearly income especially if he coaches or helps coach another sport. Nowhere need OT Baller or even Assistant To The OT Baller In Training money, but still more than most people realize.

Walmart store manager.
Had a friend knocking out $250-260K 20 years ago. Most of it in year end bonus
The Manager at the WalMart I worked at in HS 20 years ago made $70k.
How do I know? He was a massive douche and would brag about making $70k to 17 year olds.

Fire watch. Seen many a 250lb saucy lady in nomex pulling down 22-25hr to sit on their arse for 12hr a day. That's why I have no patience for free loading shite stains. What's even more amazing is they are in high demand, and can't get enough of them.
This x 100.
Got hooked up with a job as a firewatch and a flagger the summer before I started grad school. I got $19 an hour to sit there and wave a flag for 10 hours a day.
It was real nice in july I got switched over to basically a foreman’s bitch. All we did was ride around in a golf cart and fill up water coolers and haul trash and supplies around the site. We had to get there before everyone else so I got to do 6 12’s. My checks were nearly as big what I get as a pharmacist

Have a cousin that quit college after one week. He went to work at Walmart and worked his way up to manager then jumped to Home Depot. Seems like he’s making a good living
