Yorkshire, England. But it's actual origin is Danish, due to the Vikings control of that area for a time. Thank my ancestor Bjorn.

My surname has flip flopped between German and French through the years. It was actually the German version before my ancestors came over to the US, and they swapped it to the French version either right when they got here, or just before.
There are 20x more people in France with my last name than in the USA.
