It’s not that bad, just an inconvenience more than anything. Corners of your mouth will be pretty sore from being held open wider than a Kardashian’s in an NBA locker room

With shots it is not bad. The bad thing is that the tooth will now be dead and quickly decay leaving you with a hole in your teeth that can only be fixed by a dental implant, which costs a lot and is very painful.

Unless you’re going to an endodontist for the procedure, I’d ask about taking the tooth & replace with an implant. A root canal may only save the tooth for a few more years; especially if the procedure is performed poorly.

I've had three. They aren't bad. If I had it do over again, I would have told my 12 year old self to turn my head when that fricking baseball hit the ground in front of me. It would have saved me thousands of dollars.

I recommend finding a dentist with some big titties since you're gonna be there a while with her leaning all over you.

So, it looks like I have a possible abscess in one of my back teeth and a root canal may be in order. I’ve never had one done before, but from what I’ve heard, it’s a rather unpleasant experience.

So how many of you baws have had a root canal? Is it as bad as its reputation or is it not that bad?

The discomfort of sitting in the chair for a couple hours is worse than the actual procedure if they sedate you properly.

Get an implant - root canals are temporary with crowns on top, tough to keep clean and dentists frick them up all the time (don’t get all the infection, set wrong, drill in side of tooth, etc)

If I ever need anything done to the back teeth, I will go with an implant without question

Not bad at all. I’d take a root canal over the crown procedure any day.

Not bad at all. I did it without being put to sleep, also. They numb you until half your face wants to slide off the skull. They tend to give you a test to see if you can feel shite, and if you don't then the only discomfort is the shite they shove in your mouth to keep it open. That was actually pretty bad tbh, but it's not the horror you think it will be. For sure.

For me, the actual root canal wasn't bad, but I had a weird side effect from the anesthesia after I woke up--it made my arse sore.

I totally recommend the dentist that performed my root canal.

I've had bad luck with 2 root canals. One tooth cracked after the canal and the other tooth broke in two. Might as well go straight to an implant

The worst part of it for me was the length of time it took. 2 visits that lasted about an hour and a half with my jaw jacked open as far as it would go. The good part was my guy gave me a script for a pharma cocktail that made me feel fantastic. The only problem with that was he only prescribed a weeks worth.

What surprised me the most was the smell of the infection once they drilled into the tooth. Horrid smell. I asked the assistant if that was normal and she said unfortunately, Yes!
