Paying for a wedding
It was great, everyone had a blast but at the end of the day it was just a really expensive party

Opposite of what this thread is about, but, I listened to Dabigfella back in about 2012 to buy Visa. It was great advice.

1986, Crystal oil was in Chapter 11 and the stock price was 6 cents a share. I almost talked myself into buying a thousand dollars worth. Eight years later Crystal merged with Apache for $32/share.

My reads on the economy and country were spot on 20 years ago.
Wish I just had the confidence to follow through with one of them.
Would have made a huge difference today.
Just wish I had the Guts to go forth and trust my gut.
Trying to make it in other peoples world is hard.

I have a few. I was told to buy LNG stock when it was $4, but I was young and broke and didn’t want to risk any money. That 10k would’ve been worth 500k today.
Also, when I moved to New Orleans in 2013, I rented when I probably should’ve just bought a small house. One came up a year or so after I was there and it’s worth something like 2.5x what it sold for back then.

My parents and I flew out to Dollar Generals corporate office in Tennessee from Huntsville to look at the building sites and rites for building 20 Dollar Generals in North Alabama. We got cold feet and backed out. This was 28 years ago. We kick our own arse every day.

Bitcoin. Knew about it when it was $1. Figured only drug dealers, terrorists, and money launderers would deal in it and the SEC would never legitimize it and world banks would shut it down. Wrong.
$100 would at one point have been worth $12M. Now what? 7.5M?
Tons of others.

Guy told me about bitcoin in 2011
Looked it up and saw it was used for online drug transactions on the deep web
Never touched it after

I owned a bunch of NVDA stock in the late 00s for like $5/share. I sold it because I got impatient. They basically just made graphics cards for gamers back then. It would have been multiple 7 figures now.
