Nickle beer night at Murphys cured my homesickness.

Roughed it in North Stadium 501, and Pentagon C-2. No A/C, no regerts.

South Stadium 121 and Pentagon D-2-8 for me. No A/C, but I didn't die. Just learned how to relax and let the heat flow through me while the fan pulled air in through the window.

The only part that kind of sucks is going from having your own nice room to sharing a tiny room in a shitty 50 year old building with communal bathrooms. A lot of those old dorms are almost exactly like staying in a hostel.

Baw, 1992 was my freshman year and I stayed at Power Hall which no longer exists. Every weekday night around 9pm, we would all come out to the common hall and plan our trip to the Tiger and have "quata wata". That's when I learned how to understand Chalmation talk. So yeah, dorm life was good to me.

PS that was just the first semester.
After that I pledged and had the time of my life partying, drunken fun and laughs at Murphy’s, Fred’s, Varsity etc., hook ups, just great times.

Kirby smith was a total shithole. Its nickname was Vertical Africa when I was there. People would shite in the elevator, pull fire alarms, and the side doors were always propped open so you could sneak girls in. Aka “the whore door”

I was a drunk, a gambler, and a womanizer. It was a glorious time to be alive.

Scrolled through and was surprised not one Hatcher. After the 1st semester I think I was the only one left on the 4th floor. We used to play hockey with the mops in the abandoned cafeteria every now and then. It was below the first floor. Had a great time and my dad roomed there in the 60s.. when he got out of the stadium.

I planned to live at home my freshman year, but about a month into the semester my friend’s roommates both dropped out of LSU and she was left in a triple room alone, so another friend and I moved in. We were in a suite and shared a bathroom, so that was a lot better than the communal bath down the hall. No a/c, but somehow we didnt die.

I then proceeded to get completely out of hand.

I did go home to do laundry and get a decent meal about twice a week, so no issues with homesickness. It was a pretty amazing year.

I moved into my sorority house the next year and those years more largely inform my college memories, but freshman year in the dorm…good good times.

homesick

I have a hard time imagining anyone who grew up in a coonass family has any idea of what this word even means. I certainly don’t. I had the time of my life and never wished my parents were around to mess it up.

When I was at LSU in the late 80's I had a good job so I moved into a condo with roommates.
Homesick? Umm...no.
In 89 I bought a bar and the never-ending supply of good ecstasy, booze and babes kept me company.
Today is very different
Mom & Dad are long gone so now I'm homesick everyday.

My experience was having the shite run and beat out of me twice a day. Was also reminded I was a business asset at that point.

Homesick? Sometimes, but utter fatigue didn’t allow for that.

Was a tad brutal.

I lived at home my first year of college to save money and I have regretted it ever since.

Those were the best years of my life. Never got homesick, so many opportunities to venture out and see what life is about.

It would have been great if I didn’t have a roommate.

As a freshman, in back to back semesters, I had 2 of the worst roommates EVER. The first never went to class and stole my stuff when he left. The other was a thief and campus police tried to arrest me when they came to drag him off to jail. I moved back home in Broadmoor and commuted till I graduated. The hall monitors must have hated my arse when they assigned me to room with these 2 *ss wipes.
