If not football season, good chance I was camping or sitting by my PC playing the Sims or Rollercoaster Tycoon while Comedy Central Presents or 90’s/2000’s alt rock played in the background.

We use to call it parking.

But with the advent of smart phones, parental tracking, not having a car nor driving, plus the rise of low-T it may now be all but obsolete.

Spraying more nitrous oxide through a 94 Camaro in a night than a cosmetic dentist does in six months.

Well... technically that was very very early Saturday morning.

Playing in a Football or Basketball game then getting drunk afterwards. Best friends dad owned several gas stations and we would pull our cars around back and load up the trunks from beer cooler every Thursday night for weekend. We would sell 12 packs for $10 and case for $20. Would use the money to buy Waffle House, Drugs, Liquor and all kinds of stuff.

Before getting my license, I watched HS football then went to a dance if it was a home game. Usually went to a friend's house to do normal teenage boy shite like video games or sneaking out to roll people or something goofy.

Once I was 15+ I was playing HS football, sometimes a late dinner with family after the game, and ended the night somewhere with girlfriend (movies or her house). I couldn't party after playing football. I was usually trying not to get leg cramps... Could barely enjoy my girlfriend without being in agony.

Saturdays (after working at Subway) were my party days.

Go to the pep rally in the afternoon

Go home after school

Go to the field house with my friends who painted their chests for the game and hangout with them pregame

Go to the game

Go home and listen to the scoreboard show around 10:30 or whenever it came

Depends on what grade I was in.

Freshman - home watching Friday night videos, Elvira, or Benny Hill touching myself

Sophomore - riding around with my friends looking for someone to buy us beer.

Junior - riding around with my girlfriend looking for someone to buy us beer then sex.

Senior - hanging out with my girlfriend and avoiding kids trying to get us to buy them beer

Oddly enough the part of town we grew up in was right next to a swamp so we did a shite ton of camping starting on Friday nights which was literally slang for not having a curfew at all and staying out all night all weekend but at least we were smart about it. We actually did go through the motions of camping by getting the stuff and riding the 3 wheelers/dirt bikes into the woods to set up. After that it was riding back out to a vehicle and during the Fall it was to a football game or maybe a random field out in BFE. There was also the random parents out of town house party or we just rode our wheelers in the hood at night that usually ended up with the cops chasing us around. Thank the Lord there was no cell phones back then with tracking capabilities because I would have probably been grounded for life for the dumb shite we used to do,

No kidding!!

The amount of bonfires we made out in the woods lucky we didn’t start a forest fire. Drunk kids don’t do fire safety to well

We would literally run about 350 sections of extension cords to whatever outlet we could find that the homeowners wouldn’t bust us plugging into their outside outlet so we could power up our bonfire/camp site.

My high school days ended upon graduation in 1970. Friday nights in the fall were spent at Chalmette Stadium watching the Owls play football and then heading over to a friends house to shoot pool in their garage and drink a couple Carling's Black Label beers.

Other times during the year I would be hanging with friends or camping out along the Mississippi River batture with a couple of my cousins and spending most of the night fishing, building a big fire and enjoying our freedom from home.

Once I got a steady job, it was getting some sleep to wake up at 4:30 to be at work for daybreak in the summer months.

Depends on the Friday. Football season? Playing then going to the local Pizza joint to hang out. After that closed we would cruise the loop hanging out on it.

Non-football? Roller skating or ski weekends at Winter Park.
