Odds are you'll end up in the ER or 6 feet under.

No such thing as a beginner bike, you can die on that Grom just as easily.

If it wasn’t for the general public being shitty drivers I would ride one. Maybe when unassisted full self driving becomes commonplace I might.

wasn’t worth the risk at this point in my life.
I totaled 2 cars in one year but I’ve never put a scratch on my bike.

1994 Honda Nighthawk 750
1997 Honda Shadow 750
2005 Suzuki GSX 1200
2016 Harley Davidson Road King
Quit since so many drivers can’t seem to drive without looking at their cellphone.

first bike was a Honda 65 cc 4 speed in 1965.
went to a junque yard in Saudi Arabia and bought three to build one. Matching teeth spacing on chain was an issue. Had machine shop build one from a blank
had a couple dirt bikes
At age 65 bought a Harly sportster, at age 71 put a Frankenstein stein conversion kit to make it a 3 wheel. At age 76 its up for sale.

If you do ride..... why?
Because when I get in my truck it’s to get from point A to point B, but when I get on my bike it’s about the ride, and I don’t care how long it takes for me to get there. It’s a visceral experience that makes you forget about everything but the ride, and focusing on everything going on around you. It’s the sound and feel of the engine, the changing of the gears, the leaning into corners, and everything that reminds you that you are fully involved in the riding of the motorcycle. It’s the unobstructed view, and smell of freshly cut grass when you get out on the backroads, careful obviously to avoid the clippings, and yes, there are hazards, and you have to plan and put yourself in position to both be seen and escape people who I always assume I am invisible to, but nothing beats it, except perhaps a horse. I look forward to every weekend I get to ride. Every single one.

First ride.. Honda 50
I rode this '88 Heritage Classic all over the country for 20 years. Had an old S&S Super "B" Carb on it.. Like an old John Deere Tractor. Loved this bike until you could no longer find rear shocks for it any longer...
Now I have this 08 Heritage Classic... But hardly have time in my life to ride anymore.

Some of my favorite memories are riding in the Smokies and on the Blue Ridge Parkway with my late father on Virago 750's.
Got an 03 Heritage Classic in 2012 after being cycleless for about 15 years. Still got it. Hit a deer on it on this exact day and about this exact time on it 8 years ago. Was coming back from getting a subway and saw one cross up ahead, so slowed down to about 35-40, and sure enough out popped another one right in front of me. Front wheel knocked him down and went up and over him. When the back wheel hit him the bike slid out from under me. I pushed and rolled as I met the pavement. Had on gloves, longsleeve t shirt, shorts, ankle socks and tennis shoes. Rolled about 60-75 ft down the road, really spinning at first, the bike making a hissing sound as it slid along beside me. Finally came to a stop and quickly jumped up and off the road, and just as quickly thanked God that I was ok. After a few minuets it cranked and I rode it on home. Put towels on the arms of the recliner to keep the blood off, sat down and turned the tv on and ate my sandwich.

My son's got a Honda Navi, similar to the Grom.
Kinda. But the Navi is set up like a scooter--disguised as a motorcycle.
The grom has all the motorcycle parts in motorcycle places.
Nothing wrong with either. And no shame in a scooter. Honda is killing it in their mini moto line.

I rode a 1977 Honda CB750K. Having a bike simplifies parking immensely at a big university.

I have a Suzuki savage. I just bought a cheap $1000 bike to learn on. Ready to upgrade soon.

CBR600 first. Sold it
GSXR600, in the dumpster after I wrecked it.
CBR900. Put a few thousand into it. In the dumpster too.
CBR999RR. Believe it or not. It went in the dumpster.
Decided I wanted a clean driving record and stopped riding.
Name should check out.
