People of his generation wrote protest songs when the government overstepped the boundaries against people who protested against what they considered important issues. I guess he’s still in that frame of mind.
Vietnam, civil rights, Kent State killings, etc. I’ve seen them my entire life I guess that’s why it’s not so overwhelming for me to see what’s going on. But the truth has to be acknowledged or the machine will feel empowered to treat us all like this eventually. I’m glad these people are standing up to the government and letting them know they need to stay within the laws and constitution no matter who’s running the country.
Steven Stills wrote a protest song because the bar scene on sunset strip was causing traffic problems so they set a 10 o’clock curfew. It pissed the patrons off so they held a protest where 1000 people showed up and cops as well. Songs just give a point of view. Stills wrote this song:

Read my statement again. I just said "but he does have a right to the views he has". It was a statement. I wasn't addressing anyone specific, I was just saying.. while I don't agree with him, he does have a right to his own views.

The song I like that he wrote is glory days. I know some folks who that song applies to plus it’s one song he sings that I can understand all the lyrics.

The problem with these "celebrities" is that they think their views should carry more weight than any one else's view. It's just his two cents, and it's worth even less, now that they quit making pennies.
