Sometimes I stop in a diner in Hill Country and feel like I’m with my people, even when “ my people” are Latinos and I don’t speak Spanish . I don’t get that at the Racetrack on Siegen. That’s why I like it- it still feels like America that wins occasionally. People work, have families, use their hands, solve problems themselves, mind their own shite, etc.

Colorado’s issues are mostly from being the first adopter. No one is going to flock to Texas or Louisiana in 2022 if they legalize weed like they did to Colorado in 2012
correct. and i think the "flocking" of people to CO wasn't due to weed as much as some people think. Boulder and Denver becoming "it" spots for that type of person was inevitable.

Will change as more states legalize it.
You always will have a contingency of slackers who want to do nothing but smoke weed, the more legalized the trade is, the less they'll congregate.

Agree. but the ones that are so adamant with the legal weed talking points of:
"Just make it legal and tax the shite out of it"
"If the Republicans would just legalize weed they'd never lose an election"
Are also the same idiots that will take legalized weed in exchange for Democrat control any day of the week.

I'm here to say, that conceding just 1 of your ideological points for weed legalization, will result in Democrats taking over. The left is a disease. It will not stop once you let them in.

And yes, i realize there are outliers.

It is not THE ONLY THING that has made it liberal, but it is a symptom of liberalism. I don't know why you're so offended when i say weed and liberalism typically go hand in hand, you are to the left, are you not? Embrace it.

Hill country is so central

I know we aren't 1000's of miles away, but until you live here you can't realize how big it is. Getting out of Texas is phase one of a trip. ANY trip by car from central Texas.

Hill country IS beautiful though. With a lot of modernization of old towns like Boerne as an example.

I don't think you ever have to worry about anyone flocking here. Regardless of political party, our politics has been corrupt for decades. The left does what the left does, and the Louisiana GOP exemplifies the "vote for me, if you want me to talk big against the left and never do anything while in office".

And that's true. How many times has the left given up the power they have acquired?

"Everyone that doesn't agree with me is stupid". Quite the high minded viewpoint.

ironic because in TX you do not require any licensing or certification to call yourself a builder or general contractor

there's a lot more flat, dirty, dusty, and treeless scenery in TX than GA, not that that I'm advertising for GA, I've been in TX a long time and the ugliness of the majority of it is what gets to me

the power they've acquired by granting you more freedom?

there's no evidence to back up anything you are saying. and your conceding ideological points point makes no sense. there are no instances of that.

When was it not? They had a lesbian mayor before the black dude. Harris county has been blue for awhile.

We had a lesbian mayor, before that, was Bill White, a great democrat mayor. Well, anything could have been considered great after Lee Brown. I can't think of the last Republican mayor of Houston without looking it up.

I lived in Boulder through the decade of the 90s and it was idyllic. Not so much anymore. Too much trash coming in solely for stoned adventure . It used to be people coming in for outdoors adventure. It’s a different mindset. I say that as a lifelong pro- legalization guy.

Great. But if I have to pay money and get permission to build an implement shed, then that is not happening.

I will say, I could enjoy living there.

Check out Bandera, Tx. I don't know what living there would be like but I enjoyed a short stay near there and it seemed like a nice little place.

So you’ve been in a coma the last decade? Cool.

And the government doesn’t give you freedoms. That’s a slavish way of thinking.
