Doug is at Cameraland NY. Give him a call and he will help you out anything you need. Great prices and business.

Vortex Precision Matched Rings
I really don't get why everyone on multiple boards suggests these instead of the maker of them, Seekins. Vortex rings are just rebranded Seekins rings, and many times a few dollars more than Seekins because they have the Vortex name.
I feel like Vortex was a really good option for the price when they started, but now they are the same price or higher than many other companies I find myself shying away from their products.

Also, if you don't mind buying use join a place like Sniper's Hide and go to their Exchange. You can find great deals on scopes.
I bought a Vortex Razor hd2 4.5-27x56 on their exchange for $1400
Scope didn't even look like it was ever mounted and had box and everything.
I feel like I stole that scope. It's amazing.
I have A Leupold VX5 hd 3-15x44.
I can't imagine a better scope for a hunting rifle.
I however do want to look at the new Nightforce NX8

If you may be interested in the Burris XTRIII check out Tyler at TK Machining. Use code SCOPEVEMEMBER and he's doing 10% off and includes a throw lever and scope level. I almost bought this scope (cheapest price on the web) until I got that Bushnell.
Also check out dvor.com, they have some amazing deals but sometimes you have to be ready to pull the trigger cause they won't last long.

That's a real steal! Can't beat places like that where there are gear addicts and always looking to fund their next project. Grabbed 2 guns and a scope from there this week.

I’ve had good luck with my Sig rangefinder, but haven’t tried the scope yet. It’s a cool concept, but I want to give it a bit more time so they work out the bugs.

So the next question to ask is if one of the Nightforce SHV’s or a Z5 2.4-12x50 will be better than a Steiner HX4 4-16x56 or a Meostar 3-12x56?
The Z5 you mentioned above was my choice for a rifle I just had built. I started with a Meopta Meopro and decided to use it on a muzzleloader I’m going to build next year. The Swaro, Steiner, & Meopta will all be European glass. The Nightforce is going to be Jap glass. I have two Bushnell LRSHi scopes (special overruns from GA Precision) that use the same glass as the Nightforce you mentioned. To my eye, the Swaro’s I own are better. Ultimately it’s your money and your choice. Good luck!

I dont understand buying an air weight rifle and strapping a telescope to the top of it.
Tikka rifles are perfect with a 32mm or 36mm scope. I have a 2.5-8x36 on mine and it is perfect.

This. I got out of the huge objective business (for several reasons), but to each his own.

I had a Tikka with a Zeiss Conquest 3-12x56 and it wasn’t too bad... Ended up selling the gun and buying a BAR, but keeping the Zeiss. That setup is a tank but excellent for sitting in a ladder stand over a food plot where the max shot is 200 yards.
The more I think about it, it looks like I’m going to end up with the Z5 and call it a day. That on top of a light Tikka should be what I’m looking for to skirt ditch banks looking over fields that I have cover crops planted in.
Thanks for all the help in the thread. Got a better response than I anticipated.

What caliber are you going to get?
You need a .30-06 if you dont already own one.
