When in college I came home drunk one night and decidd to empty the dish washer. Ended up stabbing myself in the knee with a knife. Life lesson learned I try not to handle anything more dangerous than a fork when drunk.

do you not check the chamber of a gun you pick up? are you retarded, that is rule number 1. you watch someone check the chamber of a gun, then hands you the gun, you check the fricking chamber.

I've seen people get drunk on whiskey and have the urge to go to a titty bar. Not so much to clean their 870.

That reads like you ran in and took a shot at the son of your dad's girlfriend. Jealous?

I don’t really own guns and I wouldn’t drink and mess with my 12 gauge.

Meh, it doesn't require one to be all the way down the road to retarded for this.

All of my guns are loaded at all times so there is no question whether they are. Someone breaks into my house I ain’t got time to load a gun.

But I keep them locked in a safe and I don’t have little kids or anything

I am unfamiliar with a handful of whiskey. Is that similar to a handle, or more like Chris Rock asking how much to just hold his hands under the Pepsi machine and fill them up?

Apparently drinking several whiskies is rule number 1. Checking the chamber is waaaaaaaay down the list. That step comes after you have a kitchen pop and blow out a window.

[quote]Who keeps loaded guns laying around the home?[/quote

Everyone like myself that has several firearms for home protection, pretty useless to have them unloaded, and locked away.
even if you are highly trained and well practiced which 99.9999% of people out there are NOT. Loading a firearm with the adrenaline rush of a sudden need to go weapons red and free in a home or vehicle situation are likely either to not get the gun loaded or load it improperly or worse your loved ones or yourself will be SHOT DEAD by the intruder.

I "cleaned" a loaded 22 once when I was living in LSU married student housing. It blasted a 1" crater into the concrete/stucco ceiling. Luckily the wife wasn't home and no one was hurt (cause she woulda hurt me).

I learned to spackle that day and no one was the wiser. Except for me, I learned to check the chamber every time I pick up a gun.
