I would bet almost anything that it wasn’t sighted in properly.

at 150 yards moving at 3000 FPS or more, than I would say that a 5 mph wind would have zero affect at that distance.

I think the shooter missing was far more attributed to not having much experience than anything else.

That's my thoughts as well. All of my kids have been brought up using an AR-15 as their first deer rifle due to the fact it is very easy to adjust to their size with the adjustable stock. I watched my 7 year old make a 160 yard shot on an 8 pointer last year and he drilled him front shoulder through front shoulder. But, we also practice and practice a lot.

I love the dumb newscasters that were saying he was 1mm from being dead

I was like, do you fricking know how small 1mm is?

The wind was kicking, looking at the flags blowing.

I remember in boot camp we didn't even adjust for the wind until we were on the 300 yard line.

A bullet moving that fast with that short of distance will have no effects from wind.

Jameson Myers, a former member of the Bethel Park High School varsity rifle team who graduated alongside Crooks in 2022, told CBS that Crooks did not make the team.

"He did not even make the junior varsity team after trying out," Mr Myers added. "He never returned to try-outs for the remainder of high school."

Another former classmate told ABC News he "shot terrible" and "wasn't really fit for the rifle team". The school district said there was no record of Crooks trying out for the team and he "never appeared on a roster".

Agreed it was gusty but still a full value wind of 10mph on a 55g fmj according to Nikon ballistic calculator is only 2.3in at 150yd.
Weather underground shows gusting to 8mph at 6pm from the west. So if the pic tbat got blaze put up is accurate then the wind should have pushed the bullet to the other ear.
I’m glad he sucked and an experienced shooter with a real gun wasn’t in the same spot.

I’m a very experienced hunter, with a stock mil spec trigger, and missed a 200 lb boar the other night (freehand albeit), at 100 yards. That trigger is terrible.

Very few people can hit the side of a barn freehand, me included.

Has any information been released on the type of weapon the shooter used?

Esp if an LEO already interrupted him and spectators were yelling about his presence.

He probably rushed to get the shots off before the SHTF

The only thing I’ve heard repeated was “an AR style rifle.”

Nothing about caliber, optics or manufacturer.

Did it sound surpressed?

If he knew how to shoot, Trump is dead. Luckily he was just a retard soy boy who had probably fired less than a fullmagazine through that rifle in his life, if even that much.

This is probably right.

He was probably the type of kid that thought he could beat anybody up if he got angry enough.

The Navy SEALs are professional killers but they had to practice months to kill Osama but this kid thinks he can just wing it. How dumb can he be? The SS gave him the opportunity and the kid still couldn't deliver. I still find the events very unbelievable. People literally warning the police there was a gunman on that roof...

Thankfully he was not a real sniper or it would be a different discussion.

"Kentucky windage"

By the way, since you posted that you have an AR, I think it is time for you to take it with you (for snakes and such) on your next fishing trip and have a boating accident in which you survive and all else is lost.
