Antarctica, left southern most tip of Argentina, spent 4 days crossing the Drake passage. Within two days of leaving Argentina we lost sat phone communications, we could still get a Email out through a low orbit satellite system every other day, and receive a news summary at the same time.

I used to travel to Iowa during the summers and camp out while detassling corn for college money.
Would walk 15-20 miles a day. Up and down rows of corn from daylight until dark.
Rows were anywhere from 1/2 mile to full mile long. 4 rows per panel. So you did down and back twice to get paid for the panel.
When you are in the middle of a mile long corn patch it feels like you are on another world. Seriously caught myself looking over my shoulder or running panels because I heard all kinds of weird noises. More than once I thought I saw people as well.
Never liked being alone in the corn

Terrell County, TX. An hour from a gas station, 30 minutes from seeing another structure. No cell phone service. Loved it.

45 minute float plane ride out of Kuujjuaq,QC,Canada. Caribou hunting. Satellite phone was only communication, and sometimes it wouldn't work.

Not sure how far I was but was in Cancun many years ago.
Lined up a guided fly fishing trip for backwater species.
Guy picked me up around 3-4 am in a sweet pickles van and we drove for about 3hrs north of Cancun. Last hour was on a dirt/sand road.
Was one heck of a trip. Jumped 5 and land one tarpon and caught a couple of snook as well.

Northern end of the Island of Honshu in Japan. Pretty remote region, but not that far away from anything. Beautiful country.

Probably Flat, Alaska, spring brown bear hunt in 1995. Me and a Norwegian friend of mine were flying for a bush/commuter airline out of Bethel, AK. He was friends with an old guy that had a cabin there and a Supercub and let us take it to his cabin for a hunt.
Flat is in central Alaska, an abandoned gold mining “town”. We were the only people there. Was really cool. No sat phone and no way to contact anyone if something bad happened. We basically told them if we weren’t back in five days, send the State Police to look for us.
We didn’t kill a bear, but I tracked one through the snow into a bunch of spruce trees until I realized that if I did come upon it, it would only be yards away. So I backed my arse out of there. I wasn’t that mad at that bear.

1 of 2 places
A ranch outside of Dryden TX. Check out that google maps. Lol
Or
29 palms. Thank god it was only for a few days.
Id definitely go back to Dryden though. Would bring more guns, but that place was quiet.

I have been there. The high desert at night can be a scary thing. North of I-80 in Nevada is like a post apocalyptic movie.
