You better pack a lunch... bring it.
Seeing as it took you 3 days to even respond, your guns and ammo would be long gone by then.
You really need to up your "Survivalist" game a notch or 8.

KISS for Preparedness
That’s a great list.
My preparation has focused on what happened recently with the shutdowns and disruptions of the supply chain and I also try to focus on redundancy.
I have a lot of frozen meat but tried to think about what I would do if power went out. I’ll probably get a generator soon since gas wasn’t really affected during the shutdown but I also bought more canned protein products. If electricity goes out, my stove is gas but I also have a Coleman camp stove and an adapter that lets me hook it up to a propane tank like you use for a grill. I have about a dozen Mountainhouse freeze dried meals but those aren’t really an affordable long term alternative - I use them for camping or fishing trips normally. I have some powdered milk, peanut butter, and butter. The milk is the Nido brand stuff you find in the grocery by the Hispanic foods. Lots of water, pasta, canned veggies, too.
If the bulk stuff like beans and rice seems overwhelming, buy some already packaged from the Mormons.
I watched some YouTube videos from the folks who concentrate more on supplies than bugging out or stocking up on guns/ammo. Alaska Granny was one I remember.

I'm not a "prepper", but I am prepared for most uncertain situations. The problem is there are too many variables to be prepared for every situation. Especially if you have very young kids like myself. Just have to have food, water, shelter, guns, and medical supplies.
One thing I did find out about myself when all these riots started up, I realized I didn't have near the knowledge or equipment to treat injuries in the field. A friend of mine in the medical field was telling me everyone down south has guns and ammo, but rarely do they have the medical to treat a GSW. It's something I never thought about when thinking about riots, hurricanes, and other SHTF scenarios.
I ended up getting several IFAK kits, read some books, and signed up for an In Extremis Medical class.

Not hardcore prepper by any means, but I’m part of a group that has been planning for the worst for 6-7 years now. Defensible positions, communications, food, water, shelter, medicine, and medical personnel. I have to travel to get there, but have plenty more expendables once there. I figure we are good for a couple of years if needs be, and the group doesn’t balloon when things get bad.

Prepping for the Apocalypse isn't practical or necessary. Emergency funds (Not necessarily all in currency), Food, water, toiletries, some creature comforts is way more practical for any type of disaster we will likely face. If we do get into a TEOTWAWKI situation nobody is going to give two shits about private property rights.

I thought the number one rule for prepping is don't discuss your prep?

Where (general area) is your group located? I am thinking of starting a group like this in southeast Louisiana and am wondering how to get it going...or join an already established group.

So what size fuel tank does said 4X4 have??? If its like most, somewhere around 30 gallons, at what, 19 per mile with diesel and 12 with gas...so somewhere around 570 and 360 miles from where its full and it "pops" off. Assuming you won't be the only one the road when it "pops off" traffic is going to be an issue...sitting in traffic will drop the range significantly. Better have a bed full of fuel cans.
I have a buddy who inherited a small but comfortable family fortune who is a prepper. Has, by his count, about 70K rounds of ammo for various guns, I have seen 7 vaults stacked top to bottom with it so I would say his count is close to accurate, and also has $40K face value in gold coins....I have seen these also....in a vault in his garage. Has a 2000 gallon cistern in his yard and an illegal well in a part of Texas where such things are more serious than shooting your neighbor. He is ready! Problem is he has not felt comfortable leaving his home for more than an hour or so at a time for the past 12 years (wonder what happened 12 or so years ago to create this fear). Does not even allow the US Postal Service to deliver mail to his home....seriously. Has empty conduits in the ground to fool would be robbers into cutting the wrong one when they come to cut his communication lines. Dude has been a prisoner of his unfounded fears for 12 years and counting yet somehow sees himself liberated from that "when it pops off".

One of the most important things that is often overlooked is being in good physical shape. Seems like there are a lot of 500 pound preppers out there that couldn't walk a mile if their life depended on it.

This right here. Your first line of preparation is your physical condition. If you can't run/jog/walk 3 miles without stopping and do basic body weight exercises for a reasonable amount of time (in 8 minutes: 50 push-ups, 50 sit-ups and 50 body weight squats)-then you're going to have a rough go of it.
And that is just the bare-basic minimums.

When it “pops off” I’m going to go out quickly in the first wave of whatever “it” is.
You frickers can go on miserably for the two to six months longer that you’ll last.

Is there a way to stock up on antibiotics? Like just to have an emergency supply. We have a doctor as an immediate family member who is also a survivalist. If SHTF we are going to their house. But was curious if it’s possible to get emergency antibiotics to have on hand in case a Katrina level scenario occurs and we get stuck without readily available medical access for a while.
