Texas voters should throw Greg Abbott out and elect Beto.

I used to think that would be a viable solution to the border crisis; now I'm not so sure.

Shockingly Beto seems to be losing ground in the governor's race.

Because legally they can’t.

Shipping bus loads of them to “sanctuary cities” they should increase.

I disagree. I'm not saying they are doing everything they can, but we've seen governors build wall sections where they could, attempt to enforce national immigration policy with state police (Obama V Arizona). They can only do so much before the feds get involved and some judge slaps them down.

What have you done to stop it?

Has anybody organized a campaign to lead conservatives (and probably 25% of liberals) to donate to TX/AZ in their efforts?

Hell, why don’t we do this? Why don’t the posters of PT that agree with shutting down the border organize a non-profit and get a single bus funded/rolling. We’ve got a shitload of lawyers around here, so establishing the legal entity should be easy. And I bet we’ve got someone in transportation familiar with leasing/manning a bus, probably a dozen guys that could develop a website, etc., etc. If we could get one bus rolling, I bet we’d have 100 buses rolling within six months if we made it possible for likeminded Americans to contribute.

Jjdoc, why don’t you take this on? You start a million threads, know how to get people to respond. You know loads of people around here – find an attorney or two to start. Find a CPA/finance guy. There are some very capable guys/gals on these boards.

At a minimum, we’d find out who around here is willing to walk their talk. Aren’t there 2 or 3 threads already today about red lines and when will men stand up? If you’re unwilling to stand up while seated in front of a screen, you’re never going to stand up. No excuses anymore … right?

No excuses any more. None. 4.9 MILLION illegals walked across the border in Biden's first 18 months in office. They did nothing but ship them to DC in an attempt to make them understand. That is political posturing. It did not solve the problem and they KNEW it would not. Each state has the right to stop it at the border.

Is this your very first attempt at Trolling ?

I am guessing because the states don't control the border its a federal responsibility.

There's a good answer I hadn't thought of. You either support stopping the immigration, or you deal with them.

but it's true. Our border states shoulder 90% of the burden from hospitals, schools, lack of taxes being paid in etc; meanwhile, non-coastal states don't have to bear the brunt like we do.

This is in response to the whole of the thread...

One-third of the land is owned by the federal government or by Native American tribes. 13 States and private property owners own the rest.

The "easement" own by the fed Gov is only so wide.

As with Trump, even if congress agreed to the money, they would have to deal with the land owners.

Here is an article speaking about it.

LINK

1- They could work deals with local land owners. Period. Those that did not want it, they could move the lines around that property.

2- Don't build it on federal land. It's only so wide..

Now for those saying states can't:

So yes they can... They can also police it!

Plenty of blame to spread around but protecting the border is one of the primary responsibilities of the federal government. This was being done until Jan of 2020. What changed?

OP wants Abbott to lose as he's not MAGA enough. A dem is preferable to him if the rep isn't carrying Trump's water.

This thread is just a backdoor way of saying it.

Might want to check those numbers, baw. There are closer to 49 million registered democrats in this country. We're going to need a bigger bus!
