Which doesn’t make sense bc all we keep hearing about is how minorities are 13% of the population and and have a disproportionate number of police encounters. Yet we have to have a 50/50 split in employment/management apparently.

I have a hard time they would trumpet something like that if they didn't have a signed release of claims already from everyone they let go. If they offered enough severance, they would.

Chevron job performance and productivity about to be in the toilet with a bunch of layoffs. Trying to get the same or more work out of a reduced workforce is always a disaster.

You're still going to end up buying Chevron gas at the convenience store..."boycotting" Chevron can't be practically done at the individual consumer level, which begs the question as to why they would even pursue this virtue signaling move.

Long owned and run predominantly by white males, the oil industry has drawn criticism along with other parts of corporate America for failing to do enough to promote diversity.

Yep. POC in tech are getting flooded with recruitment calls saying: “we’re looking to fill this position with a POC”. Straight up federal labor law violation. But let’s be honest... no one is going to enforce it.

We’ll have to ask who their fuel jobber is at even unbranded stations. Depots pump the same fuel into a lot of the delivery trucks sometimes. I used to call on fuel stations and would see the same trucks at a lot of different branded stations.

BP announced similar moves about 4 months ago. They told employees they are going to pull women through into top leadership roles.

What’s funny is their new CEO is known as a womanizer and has slept with a lot of women in the company. Including a number who are considered high potential.

Only works of CVX informed them they were laid off because of their race. I have a harder time thinking that was included in a waiver.

Old news....I have commented on this before

I was in oil and management and remember the pie charts of targeted mgt promotion from thirty years ago... and it was race and gender... no where on it was experience and education... I left that company and became management in another big oil where our target promotion criteria looked at skills and accomplishments...it was part of my job...

This has been going on for a looong time

And you can not even imagine all the “sensitivity “ training we were required to take ...
