worked great...lol

As others said, it might not be the failure of the radar itself, but the fact that the U.S. has total cyber supremacy and can cut power anywhere they want beforehand. Kinda hard to fight that. Not to mention our radar jamming capabilities.
It's also possible the U.S. had defectors on the inside who made sure to look the other way. Or maybe it was a combination of all these things.
The operation was so smooth that lots of people were saying that it was staged and Maduro had agreed beforehand to surrender. Now we know that's bullshite. Delta force killed over a dozen of his guards before they reached him. The U.S. military's clandestine ops are just that good.

I read that the F35 was used as a decoy, to provide lots of noise to cover for incoming Helos that dropped Delta Force onto roof to extract maduro.
I can share how we did it in Grenada (Urgent Fury) and Panama (Just Cause), very similar ops to Venezuela (Absolute Resolve).
Although we didn't use high altitude stealth bombers in either of those operations, plus we landed on an airstrip, under fire, in Urgent Fury, and we parachuted in, under heavy ground fire, for Just Cause. (2/325th PIR White Falcons). AATW.
But the tactics remain the same.
You cut off all power and communications first, based on intel ... and you hit every military base and strategic stronghold hard and fast before you do your insertions.
Our mission in urgent fury were the President's house and the medical university.
Our mission in Just Cause was Noriega's Palace and the canal locks.
The big difference in Panama was that we knew Panama like the backs of our hands because all the NCOs in my Unit had been to JOTC down there at least twice.
You can bet we had people in Caracas and everywhere near there that knew that place like their own backyards.

I think that's horseshite. But I also think his regime depended on not arming citizens. They have a crapload of MANPADS which can easily down a blackhawk, but if you're a shitbag dictator you don't let those out of the vault or they'll kill you with them.

I heard there were manpads all over the place. Helicopters would have been an easy target. I think there may have been a stand down. Seems the only ones killed were the cubans.

There was video of an RQ-170 landing, i presume it was used. It's not new that certain frequencies can detect a stealth aircraft, you can't target it, but you know it's there.
Yeah, I saw that. Could have been but the clip was taken in Puerto Rico and in the background, you could hear a rooster crowing.
There was also some buzz in the background, could have been from the done but sounds like something else was in the air with it.

Seems like their junk couldn't even do that.
There is a rumor going around now that maduros own military turned on him and gave intel to the US. IDK

I mean, it was made in China.
There also was Russian Buk-M2Es along with Russian S-300V systems.

Also, maduro had Iranian drones, the Shahid style drones.
I am starting to think that we had lots of HUMINT on the ground in VZ, and some are saying that high ranking officers in the VZ military worked with the US and turned on maduro.

I saw an awesome piece on how we took out the Yemen arses firing on ships in the strait of Hormuz doing just that.
Sent up an f-35 as bait, had an AWAC coordinating with satellite observing and ships offshore at the ready. As soon as they fired at the f-35 their position was marked, relayed and missiles fired from ships on their mobile launchers. Also picked up communications and targeted their stationary headquarters. Incredible technology.
I am glad to see IT/AI firms like Palmer Luckey's get integrated into the US military, it should enable quantum leaps in lethality.

It didn’t work because they didn’t remove the sticker.

Looks like Taiwan might decide to invade China and their crappy defense systems.

this Caracas thing was unbelievably ballsy and effective. I cannot remember ever hearing about anything like this, with such a successful result.
Certainly nothing that utilized this many assets in the belly of the target's military operations & command structure, safely extricating their presidente and his wife.
I still am in awe of the absolute perfection of the whole affair.
We must have capabilities that rival the stuff in movie scripts.

hope this is true - would make the restoration activity more quickly/safely accomplished

Yes - that is pretty much a given - I sure hope they are not ID'd in the aftermath before we get full control and restoration of civil governance.

just complete arse but they never fight anybody to prove it's not.
We probably know a lot about their tech, but it will be good for us to get a hold of it to really see what they are selling. I don't know who else has bought defense from them, but I'm sure our MIC is knocking on their door right now.
I do love the story about getting Maduro right before he closed the door of his safe place. Haha

Not taking away from that, but if reports are to be believed, we had some significant inside help on this.
The Venezuelans facilitated this and the US executed. We basically walked up to his house and arrested him....without incident.
