The polls coming out over the next few weeks (until DNC roll call valve) will determine IF Kamala is indeed the top of the Democrat Ticket.
If her numbers falter then the Roll call vote will "pick" someone else.
This is the DNC trial balloon to see if she gets the nod or not..... she has 3 weeks to get into the limelight and win over dem voters, DNC delegates, and Big money donors..

How are they going to step over a "black" woman who has been endorsed by Biden and the Clintons to nominate someone else? While any candidate would do a better job that Kamala, that candidate will suffer the backlash of skipping her turn.

If polling regularly shows him under 50 that’s a big problem because the dems have a lot of candidates and they can still coalesce. So if this is the beginning of him being above 50% and we see a surge in swing states I’ll feel much better about his prospects. There is still the question of the Independents though. We need their votes.

Don’t be surprised if Obama has the thumb on the scales with the polls.

The scenario for NY to be in play was Trump +8 nationally. NY this cycle has been polling really strangely towards the GOP, no way to know if it’s a mirage until the election.
Remember that no GOP candidate has even won the popular vote in a number of cycles so +8 would be a seismic electoral happening.
