You also have absolutely zero principles or integrity. So it’s easy for you. And you don’t have any particular fondness for American traditions, principles, ideals and Institutions. So there’s that.

With all the money he had, it should have been easy to stand up for his beliefs. Some folks are about to be fired for standing up for what they believe in, with hardly a pot to piss in.

His teammates would have sabotaged his last season but I would have preferred he give everyone the finger and walk away instead of apologizing. That was the breaking point for the Saints for me.

It was a year ago, move on.
Did you watch the game yesterday?

He KNEW (and was probably told) that if he didn't go FULL WOKE RETARD that he would lose the NBC gig he had already negotiated as well as any future he had in broadcasting.

My take:
If Drew wanted that job with NBC, he had to backtrack. Period.

When it’s said or inferred that you have to bend the knee and accept something that is counter to your faith, beliefs, morals, or values in order to be accepted and be successful in your life, and you do so, then to me it’s as if you sold your soul for what this world has to offer, and it’s NEVER going to make you happy. It’s going to leave you empty and self loathing as a result, because none of the “stuff” they offer ever fulfills humanity. It’s an “empire of dirt”

The bigger problem with the Saints was their collusion with the Catholic Church to aid and abet select pedophile Priests in the area. That is unforgivable IMO.
... you are wrong on this ...
it was the Progresso Soup people who aided and abet select pedophile priest (holy rosary church), not the Saints.

Drew Brees was my absolute favorite football player for a very long time.
Then, he bent over for the prog SJW cocksuckers that he knew wouldn't let it go even if he submitted to them (and they didn't, surprise surprise!!)
Now, my favorite football player of all time is Brett Favre and it's not even close.

And then Michael Thomas clowned his arse anyway. He came off looking disgraceful.

Yep. Will forever tarnish the Guy's outstanding accomplishments. This should stand as a lesson for many. Of course, Brees only lost half of what was a unanimous fan base...albeit, the honest half, that created the societal scenario wherein he prospered.
Bottom line: all people are not equal in society, and neither should they be. And it is not the fault of the relatively successful people (they are not "oppressors") in society, that the underachievers do what they do. The "Cain v Able" principle that applies; Envy, pure and simple.
That said, in the spirit of the Mercy Gospel of the Good Lord, our Society should be "our brother's keeper", in the same way that we would to our own children. Mercy, and subsidization...but not without QUALIFIERS. Qualified subsidization for active and responsible action. Some people (ignorant/irresponsible) can NOT nor should be allowed Freedom. They'd never stop for a red light if so.
I think the greatest tragedy for Brees is that he may have now become one of the 'people of the lie', in that he now chooses to embrace lies, in order to sustain self respect. Of course, Jesus will be the final arbiter of what Brees becomes in his next life. Same for us all. I sure as hell won't venture to judge that.

I love American traditions, principles, ideals and institutions. But it’s not my worry to force others to have the same views. They should love america too, yes. But I don’t force others to share my views, freedom baby!

Brees didn't deserve what happened to him
Yes he did. The minute he turned on his country and his morals/ethics he deserved everything he got.

He sucked up and caved very quickly and over apologized.
What did Mike Ditka do when it concerned flag kneeling? He said he thought kneeling was disgusting and if you don’t like what he said, he said you could go frick yourself.
I’d rather be hated by progressive scum than earn their respect. You don’t cave to those lowlife pieces of shite. As a matter of fact ratchet up and offend them even more if possible.
Brees should have said to them and his progressive scum teammates: “SUCK MY DICK!”

While I’m still irate by how the organization, some members of the community, and especially his own teammates reacted to Drew’s personal thoughts about God forbid standing for the anthem - Brees did stand to lose hundreds of millions of dollars from his future work with NBC/whoever if he didn’t soften his position.
Yes I’d prefer if he told them all to F right off. However, he’s got a guaranteed job for the next 30 years making absolute truck loads of money. I wonder how many people wouldn’t be able to rationalize a little backpedaling with that amount of cash on the table.

He sold out his country so he could play one more lousy year. Have no respect at all. Hate the nfl and won’t watch.

What did you appreciate to be his "position" that you believe required "softening" for him to be marketable and palatable to a national audience?

As other have already pointed out Brees had the money in the bank already (football and franchises), yet he choose to take the SJW path and bend the knee.
All he had to do was this:
"Guys, I'm sorry but I just don't agree with you. Nothing I have said is racist and if we cannot see eye-to-eye and you guys continue to create a hostile environment then I'll hang it up and retire. Then best of luck to you guys and the 2020 season without me.....frickers!"
