Remember the commercials from last year that said
“Make A Plan, Vote.” or something of that nature?

Maybe you can start a campaign to remind people to again make a plan, but this time focus on bringing a personal sack lunch and drink with them when they leave their house to head to the voting lines. That way they won’t be parched or hungry. Problem solved.

Dog sure likes to post similar to a certain former animal-named poster on a now-defunct message board elsewhere that we both used to frequent. Besides the spam links (noticeably absent in this thread of course), the posting styles are eerily similar.

Universal suffrage is stupid.

Eventually, you get outnumbered by people who hate you.

No one has ever offered me water while I was in line to vote. It never even crossed my mind. I lived.

I've seen it. Once. I just thought it was somebody doing a community service. I took one, and the label was a campaign ad.

If they bothered to put it in there I’d bet it was already abused, probably in the last 2 elections.

I guarantee you Dems were offering free bbq plates at polling stations.

so what you’re saying is that the voters were so stupid that water and bbq plates would sway their vote

Here is what I find so amusing when I hear someone complain about waiting in voting lines or having to get and show an ID to vote. I know a man who at 18 volunteered to fly to south East Asian islands and March through jungles, sleep leech infested swamps, get malaria from mosquitoes, and fight for his life against the Japanese, all while watching his friends die grotesquely around him just so one day I could have the freedom to do things like vote. Yet heaven forbid if someone today have to show any effort or fortitude in exercising there rights so many great young men died for.
Oh and by the way you commie bastard, I’m a white male christian conservative father husband grandfather gun owning American loving SON OF A BITCH. I live in Bossier City. Pick a Sonic and let me know!!!

I have never seen a good Samaritan handing out water at the DMV. Why is that? those lines can be hours long no matter what time you go

It would get them to show up to vote yes. Are you so stupid you don't think that's why it's done? That's a rhetorical question by the way

I would think that the “including but not limited to” language would capture either food OR water if given individually....especially since this all falls under the category of providing gifts to people in line....presumably for their vote.

Which was obviously happening somewhere or this wouldn’t have been added. So those complaining about the change caused it by trying to get “cute” with the existing gifting law.

Trying to twist this into being inhumane is ignorant at best ... but probably intentionally deceitful and dishonest.

Oh, I agree. I read "removal AND disqualification" exactly the same way.

My point was that multiple posters are taking inconsistent positions on the two (very similar) provisions, because their ideology LIKES the two inconsistent positions. They are not interpreting text. They are arguing ideology.
