No, you think everyone should be taxed more on their income.

Typical stupid twisting of reality. No one hates service workers or people that work overtime.

We should all be taxed for our work the same. No one should get special treatment. Income is income.

So you’re against the current progressive tax?

Why do Democrats hate service industry workers, senior citizens and blue collar workers?

That’s the people they think are always in the bag and they don’t have to actually deliver anything to.

As long as "ordinary citizens" doesn't mean sky screamers, I'm cool with it.

From Grok DeepSearch:

quote:

In summary, as of February 26, 2025, the House budget bill passed on February 25, 2025, does not explicitly reference "no tax on overtime." It sets the stage for future tax legislation that may include such a provision, but the resolution itself focuses on broad targets and instructions, not detailed policy language. Media and political statements have linked the resolution to this policy, reflecting expectations for subsequent bills, but these are not part of the resolution's text.

I'm salaried. I have ZERO issue with people not being taxed on everything over 40 hours.

The way it currently sits, the incentive to work over 40 is not there because of the taxes.

And let's take tips. I'm in favor of no taxes on that too.

But I suppose you are going to tell me that you report every cash transaction from stuff you sale or provide to the IRS. We know you don't.

Overtime pay is taxed at a higher rate than normal income tax.

OT is considered ordinary income and is taxed at the same rate. You may end up having more tax withheld depending on how your W-4 is setup but you are not paying more tax.

You will end up with a larger refund but the tax liability at the end of the year remains unchanged.

Why do so many of you confidently spout bullshite that is easily disproven? lmao.

Now if you are talking about social security and retirement? That is different seeing as you have people that already paid taxes on that money, then that is understandable.

But as usual, undeserving people want a tax break over others because they whine.

Uhhmmm you idiots are the ones who screamed racism, sexism, homophobia and "they are gonna kill children and push grandma over the cliff" everytime the GOP opposed Obummer or Kilary or Kackles or Obamacare. Remember, you said we hate blacks, Jews, Mexicans, Muslims and on and on and on.

This is too easy. You can't be that stupid.

When you think about how many college students are paying their way as a waiter or waitress. It’s really sad to see how little regard the dems have for these people.

Bingo. Been there, done that. Made a difference for me back then. Democrats suck all the way around.

That’s the schedule. 6-10s 7-12s 5-8s it changes based on work and how quick it needs to get done. Example, a shutdown has a set date it will end. Work 6-10s plus sundays some. You can’t say ohhh I’m not working over 40 and keep your job. Yet the company or plant needs people to work those hours to get the unit up to which they make money.

Service workers don't claim tips anyway, at least the ones they don't have via CC. On the OT issue, there are people that turn down OT due to the high amount of taxes on those wages. Loss of productivity is a byproduct of the Democratic party, so it's no surprise they're against it.
