Maybe not completely, but certainly enough to have lost the advantage(s) that they’re used to having. Even the best of intel/spy agencies can get complacent and/or too “comfortable” with a period of relative “peace and quiet,” and miss significant clues and forewarnings in a situation as such. I mean, we sorta screwed the pooch in the time immediately leading up to the Japanese attack of Pearl Harbor. There were very unfortunate clues and forewarnings missed - but were they intentional? I don’t think so. It happens, as extremely unfortunate as it is.

Explain how " $$$$$$"helped. Are you saying they bought this level of intelligence? In Gaza as well? Mossad is famous word-wide for it's high quality of intelligence operatives. Don't think America's CIA wasn't involved to some degree.

I just don’t think Israel’s IC plays by the same “rules” as ours does. Which is fine with me, considering their existential situation versus ours.

I've always thought that stunk. They monitor all the radio traffic, own all of the cell towers, have Gaza completely locked down in terms of SigInt. Then they have HumInt sources everywhere in Gaza. No way Hamas pulled off an operation at that scale without Mossad ever hearing a peep. I think Netanyahu is evil enough to sacrifice some of his citizens to give him the excuse to raze Gaza.

I have always believed we are better off sending aid, intelligence, hardware, etc., to Israel and letting them fight the terrorist regimes over there.
