Let's be honest, he may be indicted but is not going to jail. They will continue to go after him until he is dead. But he started the movement, even if he's out the picture it will continue

This is politics.
They will indict Trump to solidify their power and destroy the Republican party.
Putting Trump in jail only helps Republicans.
Indicting Trump creates a huge problem for Republicans.
They want to further divide the Republican leadership and Republican voters.
They know they can get a DC jury to convict Trump and a judge to send him to jail but that is a long way off.
Indict Trump, they see as a win.
Republican turmoil and division, definite win.
There are only 2 options for Republicans that could thwart this Democrat plan:
1. Get on the Trump train. Every single Republican fully assisting Trump to crush these Democrat thug criminals. McConnell, Romney, Pence, DeSantis.....every single one.
I don't see this happening.
2. Trump decides not to run for President and throws the full weight of his MAGA nation behind his chosen candidate....lets say Desantis.
I don't see this happening either.
Putting Trump in jail would 100% unite Republicans and Democrats have no desire for that.
Trump will face multiple indictments though. Anyone doubting that is a naive fool at this point.

Trump continues to say that he declassified them.
We can make the argument more generic by saying that the argument will be over whether Trump should have been able to have the documents in his presence, or not, and the argument will be the same. The Dems will claim that he was endangering the nation by possessing classified documents, and will smear him.

Doesn't mean much honestly. Same people screaming for this are the ones that wanted to impeach him for no particular reason....twice.
There's really only one thing they can do to prevent someone like him from running. But they don't have the balls to do it. And if they did, the country would rightfully go apeshit.
The ruling class will spend more time ensuring that the right person wins the election. The efforts to prevent someone from running isn't going to get very far.

Of course, the first thing Trump would do is to file a motion for a change of venue to somewhere/anywhere outside of the politicized filth that is D.C.
