I don’t believe any of these reports of mass casualties. Media has said the sky was falling before. Only a dope would assume this is the truth without verifiable evidence of their own.

I've heard India was handing it out a while back.
The slums have over a million people. You are acting as though most of them got it and the results are “bodies burning in the streets!”
India is a massive shithole, and handing out a million doses of Ivermectin is tantamount to pissing in the ocean...it is statistically negligible. frick off with your false narrative and fear porn.

India is a shithole with over a billion people.
what kind of shithole will the US look like in 2101?

Lol, fear porn at its best.
Of the Top 30 countries in volume of cases, India has the fewest deaths per million of any country.
The US has 13x the deaths per million than India.
GTFO of here with this crap.

Not trying to scare anyone. India has shite medical infrastructure compared to the U.S. or Europe. If we had sick people just chilling at home over here, we'd have a lot more bodies as well.

Some areas will likely be shitty. Probably those that already are.

Stick your fear porn up your arse.

And China just happened to magically eliminate it in a few weeks. What a load of shite.

Maybe I'll email Atma. He was my driver in India some years ago. He is from the foothills of the Himalayas, and with tourism down I doubt he's in Delhi, but I can ask what's going on.
India newspapers seem to be really concerned about oxygen.
As a poster stated, India had really good numbers and some thought they even hit herd immunity. This run up in infections has been crazy fast though. On March 10 they had 22k cases. Now over 300k. The stress on the system and deaths will come unfortunately.
I don't think there's any reason to be alarmed about any variant they have. The variant thing is a boogeyman. Vaccines handle them all very well.

Hmm. Will have to look into this. Would do it, if they let me work in the US as a travel nurse after

With a population that size <1% is still alot of people, but I do wonder how many of them would survive normally. Alot worse shite in that country than covid
Posted on 4/22/21 at 10:55 pm to gaetti15
You can't understand how many people it is until you see it with your own eyes. It's a sea of humanity.
Their medical infrastructure isn't scaled to match like ours is either. It could be a real problem for them. I also like to think the virus can't sustain numbers like that for very long.

You would think that in a country that eats hydroxychloroquine like popcorn to fight malaria, this wouldn’t be happening.
Unless...

Yeah I mean youd have to think that a larger portion of that population is immune/weak side effects to covid just because they've dealt with soooooo many other viruses.
Like it's not going to wipe out the population, but even with small percentages of deaths it could wipe out 1 million + people in a heartbeat
Posted on 4/22/21 at 11:04 pm to gaetti15
Ya, that has been part of thinking. Basically, if you're alive in India you have a strong immune system or you'd be dead already. Also, the population would also skew younger. Those two things seemingly favored a lower death toll. Similar theory in Africa.
However, as you say, a small percentage of a billion is a lot of people, and you they may not have enough supplies to handle that and save people who would make it here.
They hit 2k dead yesterday, with case lag that's probably gonna go up and be around there for weeks.

And with 1.4 billion people that is nothing.
Will hardly show a bump compared to the average death rate as a lot of those "dying of kung flu" would have died anyway.
People get too hung up on numbers with no context.

Well in parts of India they literally burn bodies in the street. It’s a regular practice.
So I am not going to believe the media didn’t put that “fact” in there to make it sound worse to people who don’t know.
