My understanding is yoga is connected to Hinduism so I have heard the argument that yoga “could” pull you away from Christianity towards Hinduism “if” someone views yoga as more than just stretching and breathing exercises.

Yoga technically has roots in not very Christian things. Modern society has pulled the fitness aspect out of it and turned it in to yoga like most of us think about today. Nothing wrong with that.

You know, like a good chunk of the timing and traditions of Easter and Christmas.

Yoga and hot yoga yes, they are different than meditative yoga.

The yoga that worships lord Shiva is not Christian. The part about “I am your Lord God, you shall have no other…” is pretty fricking clear.

Yes. The devil wins when people exercise yoga.

How fricking ignorant.

No. I dated a number of yoga ladies back in the 2010s. They were usually hot and crazy. I would try it myself if I had any flexibility.

There is nothing demonic about “stretching “

however the meaning and intent vehind each pose is rooted in pagan dogma which makes it problematic

I used to do a decent amount of yoga before returning to the Church

will be asking my priest (cool guy, scratch golfer) for his take today snd report back

Yoga is not about stretching. Yoga is about ancient ways to open the body to a “heavenly” realm. During meditation to get inspiration from a deity. I would deem it anti Christian in its basis if that is the intent of the yoga session.

However if it’s just stretching just call it stretching. There shouldn’t be specific movements to stretch just stretching like an athlete would.

Personally I would stay away from yoga positions because opening yourself up to the spiritual realm is a dangerous thing. Same as with mediums fortune tellers etc

Do people in your family have to remind you to breathe? They probably do.

It's Hindu asceticism and it's tied to New Age stuff. It's a relgion, regardless.
