The first fight will be where does all of the waste go. You know the dumps can’t take all that trash, and I am sure that there will some regulations on demolition that need to be followed.
The ramifications on the permitting and other regulatory obstacles will be long. Will they try and fast track those in the fire zone? What about the family in southern LA not impacted trying to renovate their home? Will they have the same permit holiday? Getting labor and materials is going to be a train wreck too.

The only thing progressives love more than virtue signaling is being a hypocrite.
The 'beautiful/connected ' people will have no problem getting what they need to rebuild.
The everyday suckers who idolize them and their enemies will be ones getting screwed.

So all the rich liberals will just move to small beautiful towns and infect them with their idiot politics?

All that shite will disappear once Blackrock acquires that land for pennie’s on the dollar.

As someone who has dealt permitting all over CA as part of my job, correct, 2 years is wildly optimistic. To make it even 100 times worse, this is in LA County. It gone be awhile...

So why did State Farm pull out of California if not for Dim policies?

Most of you don’t know the actual facts about California. The problems in this situation are not Democrat or Republican.
You choose to ignore the actual facts about California.
The problems are 100% Democrat caused by political ideologies, incompetence, DEI hiring, and foolish environmental practices brought on by these things.

Sounds like a Democrat utopia.
Sounds like they are getting exactly what they voted for.

Between the regulations, red tape, bureaucracy, insurance, and financial cost it will take 2 years before anything get rebuilt and only the uber-rich will be able to afford it.
They have zoning that require updates so you won't be able to build back what you had.
California Coastal Commission oversees development in California's coastal zone obtaining permits from the CCC can be notoriously slow and bureaucratic, potentially delaying rebuilding by years. Posts on X have highlighted the CCC's involvement as a major obstacle, with some suggesting that it might take residents over two years to secure the necessary permits.
Environmental impact studies will be required along with historic and natural landmarks review before being able to build.
Insurance may be next to non-attainable so either you are rich enough to build without a mortgage and insurance or you are screwed. Contractors will have to comply with minimum wage laws and other labor rules along with high material and fuel costs. It will cost twice as much to build what you had.
While the regulations keep people from building back for years the empty lots will sit. The homeless will move in with their tent cities and claim squatter's rights. Getting rid of them will take more years and thousands in legal fees.
Don't look for that place to come back any time soon.
Spot on!
It will turn out just fine.
Only a handful of Venezuelan gangs and homeless will take over the picturest ocean front properties and hill sides in the name of equity and inclusion.

It's California. Rich people always get special treatment. Expect everything to be fast-tracked. Those regulations are just for the Proles.

This Diversity trash has been baked into our country for far too long.

From what I've heard, State Farm wanted a rate increase and the State of California denied it. I could be wrong, but I think that Allstate may be leaving also. Maybe someone closer to the situation can comment.
