Listen, if we could not spread bad-mouth gossip behind the backs of other people who go to our churches, we'd have to shut down all of the churches.

Does the pope ever offer words of wisdom to the invaders who rape and pillage?

Not to mention the pedophile priests they are still protecting.

At least the catholics I know want those people prosecuted and not coddled.

Progressive Marxist Dems have no God, therefore no moral compass. They believe each person is their own god.
Hence, a person can claim to be a different sex, identify as a cat, whatever... and it should be treated as real.

It seems like a positive suggestion.

I'd have to give up TD to have any chance of success

RCC is working on cleaning it up. But, did you know that Prot pastor child molestation rivals RCC problems of that kind? You can research it yourself. And don't say, "but no cover-up" because that's not accurate. Research the Assemblies of God pastor sex scandal, mon frere blanc.

All he’s doing is say try to live by the Golden Rule.

Nothing controversial there.

The people who are "taking a stand" against it so feverishly are just telling you that they're toxic people

Christians are commanded to guard our speech. James speaks of the dangers of our tongues, and the damage it causes. The 9th commandment speaks generally about not just false accusations and lying, but all forms of slanders and gossip, etc. I don't know why the Pope didn't include Scripture is his message.

The full text: LINK

Only one direct reference to Scripture in this short little epistle:
quote:

In revealing himself to Moses in the burning bush, God himself teaches us that listening is one of his defining characteristics: “I have observed the misery of my people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry” (Ex 3:7).

But also references to Church writings:

[1] Apostolic Exhortation Dilexi Te (4 October 2025), 9.

[2] Augustine The Usefulness of Fasting, 1, 1.

[3] Benedict XVI, Catechesis (9 March 2011).

[4] Paul VI, Catechesis (8 February1978)

...that are loaded with Scripture.

think everyone should give up social media.

So do I. And here we are.

But if we didn't have social media, we'd never be able to weed through the garbage and find the truth. That's a sad fact. If we can only rely on ABXi, XiNN, NBXi, MSWOW, XiBS, Faux News and Newswax, we'd be barely different than North Korea in terms of narrative consumption.

I do sometimes stop and wonder what God thinks of all of our infighting. Even when we do it in service of the good, are we pleasing him?
I know we should fight evil, and I’m not suggesting we be pacifists, but I do think we should remember more often that we are all His children and that he wants us to all be reconciled to him.
