With fact-based statements like this, who are we to disagree?

You're contending that in, say, 1879 Mexicans could just cross the Rio Grande by the hundreds of thousands completely unfettered and settle in Texas?
That's what my Italian ancestors did at Ellis Island

Once again, capital investment, be it human or monetary, is not a zero sum game. You portend investing one dollar or one hour returns the same.
And I explained how that return will be decreased. In detail.

Bessent is simply saying you remove the investments that are a drain
Higher wages are the "drain" being discussed

then can use that capital to invest in projects that have a significantly better return on investment.
Again, and I explained how THIS capital will be less with higher wages.

This sounds very elitist.
Are we talking economics or polling?

Those poor people don’t do anything with useful with money - it’s better for the rich to get their cheap goods so they can invest it?
It's better for all of us (including those poor people) for that money to be invested in more productive/scalable endeavors.

ETA: also isn’t there a benefit of having citizens less dependent on social welfare…regardless if they’re “investing” as you put it?
That's an entirely different discussion than what's in OP.

So in one post you say that the bump for lower income folks is insignificant
Where did I say this?
I mean there will be 0 change for some, yes.

and then in the other talk about how much money illegals are making trying to refute the comparison with the slave trade.
Americans will be paid more for these jobs. Just because the "slave wage" label is inaccurate doesn't change that fact (and what Bessent said about it)

I mean we have decades of data on this exact issue.

There is a reason the "blood and soil" types peg this correctly and attack GDP/SOL (typically labeling economic success as an "economic zone") with to promote their proposed racial harmony.

So what will the reversal of these suppressed wages have on prices?
These aren't the only forces at work.
There are things in the future we can't visualize.
We have no idea what AI driven automation might do to prices, and what if cold fusion comes about? Nearly free unlimited energy would make everything cheap.

Uh yeah, but that happened in 1913 and fully killed the idea in the 1930's.

Even then, reversal of suppressed wages will lead to higher prices than the state of suppressed wages.

We should keep paying slave wages so our avocados aren’t too expensive.

Interesting that the world headquarters for capitalism in the world is New York … who recently selected a pure Socialist/ Communist as the Dem primary nominee
Make no mistake, wall street suckles at the globalists teets….. and they very much Do Not want main street to succeed … which is why they supported greater regulation of small businesses, making it all that much harder for them to succeed. It has been open season by China on Main Street businesses too. I personally experienced that.

It's not that interesting. Urbanity has leaned progressive (compared to the rural/pastoral areas surrounding them) since humans invented cities.
Also, the rich/successful are always out-numbered.

I'm not for this, either. That's not a relevant point to one about the impact of increased wages, especially since that increase is coming from...increased regulations (and/or enforcement).

In one post SFP states that increasing the money laborers make is an inefficient use of capital as it’s not enough for them to “invest” and suppressed labor costs are good.
Then in another argues that it’s not slave labor since they make so damn much.
