Over there it is not uncommon to hear Spain referred to as "the Canada of Europe."
One of my nephews recently did an exchange student program over there and he heard it a lot.
Spain thinks they are untouchable because they are protected ... but a large segment of Spain wants to secede, much like BC does in Canada and for the same reasons.
Fwiw, when my wife and I were there touring ... Spain has been taken over by Islam for all practical purposes. It was alarming. We'll not go back and I've visited numerous times since the 80s.
They do have some beautiful women though.

The muzzies are fast taking over Spain. It’s only going to get much uglier there. One of my staff at work was Spanish. When Trump won in November 2024, his white American AWFL wife insisted they move their family to Spain. So, they left. Hope they enjoy their new Trump free home. Have fun with that!

So this Spain that says the US must comply with agreements, is the same Spain that wouldn't comply with the agreement to increase their defense spending to lessen burden on the US.

Spain’s government is openly pro immigration. They are encouraging migrants from the Muslim World to come there to work because “we don’t have enough workers” while their youth unemployment is approaching 30%.
