Short of simultaneously detonating every existing nuclear warhead, I find it to be staggeringly arrogant to think that there is something deliberate humanity can do to impact the entire Earth.

Did the ozone layer just disappear?

Should we have let the BP oil well just spew everywhere?

Yeah, sure they have. No intelligent business does anything for environmental purposes unless it increases profitability, reduces risk, or is required by EPA.

I don't see why you're laughing. Do you believe that there's some magic bubble keeping the air around earth in? It's much more likely that there's air all in space, think about it. We don't know for sure because austronauts are scared to take their helmets off

Seems odd to me that the guy who runs the worlds largest fossil fuel company in the world would be against burning up dead dinosaurs.

Do you know most executives for major oil companies have some sort of geology background? They are educated enough to know climate change occurs.

El Gaucho has some excellent trolls up in here.

The rest of the science deniers around here can take comfort. There'll be plenty of their ilk in this administration.

Is there anything to back up your claim that he is a progressive other than his stance on climate change?

Had a conversation the other day with a PhD geologist that does environmental engineering. I asked his opinion on man made climate change. He laughed and said it was all a scam for politicians to control industries without having to nationalize them. He stated the rate at which the earth changes temperature is due to geological reasons and regionally due to the deforesting of land. The first you can't control.

Like what?

And frankly, his conclusions suffer from the same problems as the global warming proponents: he's made definitive claims of causation in a complex system.

That's poor science too.
