When Clinton didn't get removed from office for getting his dick sucked by an intern in the oval office. Also, when OJ didn't get convicted for murdering his ex-wife and lover, and every black person rejoiced like they had just won the lottery.

I was in a chinese buffet restaurant with some friends stuffing our faces watching the election results of the first clinton win. I told my friends then the country was effed and would never be the same. If anyone actually paid attention to the clintons in arkansas back in the 80s, you knew they were bad news. Been on a downhill trajectory ever since.

When a lot of normally smart people started holding up useless felon Michael Brown as a hero while completely ignoring the fact that he tried to grab the police officer's gun before he was rightfully shot.
If I was a little older, the easy answer would be the OJ trial.

AFN runs all of the big cable news networks in rotation, I was just out of HS living with my parents in Germany. I was fairly politically uninitiated at this time, but leaned democrat because all of my friends did.
We were at home watching the live coverage of the Boston Marathon bombing, and an MSNBC contributor joined the coverage probably 10 minutes after the explosions, and immediately started spouting off about it being some angry white man, probably mad about the Obama administration. The panel ate it up, quick to draw parallels to the OKC bombing, of course.
I think the fact that I saw how quickly the assumption was thrown out there really did it. It was one of the most distinct "a-ha" moments I've ever had. I immediately realized their narrative takes priority over everything.

2016 when DJT a reality tv star and was elected POTUS using fear and grievance as a platform and it worked

When Bill Clinton hit the talk show rounds, playing saxophone on TV and whatnot. It showed that the media was growing into an”privileged reporter club.” Yes they tore him up, lightly, over the Monica Lewinsky bullshite, but something was different.

Yeah. All that time he called his opponent a threat to democracy was bad.
Wait. That was you fricking loons.

In hindsight, it was 9/11. I was pro-war and had faith in institutions. I was wrong about it all. Our government and associated institutions do not have our best interest in mind. Coupled with the rise of corporatocracy, we now see the lunacy that they push down our throats. They want full control of our lives, and we are tumbling towards a one world government.

In 95 when I bought my first house and realized how much in taxes I had to pay across the board.
My opinion on taxes is that everyone should have to pay the same amount (not same percentage) and you must come in person to the tax office and bring cash.
We'll see how much everyone likes taxes then.

When the police officers in Boston were vilified for searching a person’s home about the first week after Obama got in office.

As bad as the first term of Obama was that he somehow won again in 2012. I realized then that our country had been hijacked.

I thought the far left were very few and not influential enough to do anything. Then I watched Bret Weinstein's documentary on what happened to him at Evergreen college. I couldn't believe my eyes and ears that a college would allow those things to happen. This was around 2017 when I saw it.
This sounds interesting. I don't remember this.

After 9/11. The Patriot Act, the blatant lies about the WMD in Iraq that the media never questioned.
