So, he thinks there could be an impending attack, but instead of stepping to the side where he would be safe, he decides to get his gun ready and stay in front of the car, and then try to claim self defense...
Prosecutor will have a field day with that one.
Also, a LEO is taught not to walk and stand right in front of a car. So there's that.

I think every local and federal police officer is well aware that using deadly force will seriously interrupt their lives. Not one of them "want" to do it unless there is no other choice. This poor ICE agent is now worried about his wife and kids safety. There is a cop in prison for killing a suspect that died of a drug overdose. No matter how gung ho you are, it's a last resort.

Won't be able to prove otherwise? That doesn't make sense.
It's very simple, LEO is meant to defuse a situation, it comes with the Job. Standing in front of a car and getting your gun ready instead of de-escalating the situation by getting out from right in front of the car will easily be used against him.
So will all of the freeze frames showing the moment the first shot was fired, he was no longer in front of the car. (This is a big one)
Everyone here is so hung up about him getting nudged by the car, that doesn't mean he gets to shoot after he's no longer in front of the car and claim self defense.

They would need to prove the dumb lady did NOT accelerate in the direction of a LEO to have a case.
Getting his gun ready in case the perpetrator makes a dumb move is irrelevant to that point.

An officer can draw a weapon to protect himself when there's no other option. They are held to an even higher standard than normal citizens. He also didn't actually shoot the gun until he was no longer in front of the car. Case is closed right there, what the car was doing no longer matters as it's no longer self defense.
Also, sounds like this guy isn't too bright if he didn't learn his lesson about standing in front of potential whacko's car the first time.
None of you guys are helping his case.
