Yes

I do not trust Russia or China but I would worry more about China's military than Russia's.

True because Russia has no presence in the Atlantic Ocean or desire for the Arctic region for control. Could you please think before commenting

Just yanking your chain, but most people would never know.

If you have access to the good stuff, more power to you.

Where I live (Upper Southern Canada, ie, Northern Minnesota), I am not so blessed. I take whatever Sam’s has in stock.

You should be able to get Yankee catfish from MI or IL I think. Not as good but better than Ching Ching catfish.

If you are north, you have Yankee options like whitefish, bass, perch, and walleye. All are good eatin!

walleye

Never had it until lived here.

Now, I’m convinced it’s about the best fish I’ve ever had (and I have been to enough countries, especially Asia, to have tried a lot).

There are others with distinct properties, but for a flavorful white and flaky fish, I can’t think of anything better. That cold water just does something for them.

There are three realities for Greenland. Russia will own them, China will them or we will own them.

That is part of it, but I was raised cooking it on wood. Really good for Yankee food.

Or they could just stay in NATO

US could save money
USSR would spend heavy to take it (see also Afghanistan)
China is too far away to hold it.\

If the Government would allow full access to AK, we wouldn't need Greenland for mineral rights. Who's to say we'd not have the same issue in GL once our dumb arse government gets their hands on it?

Armies, yes. Nukes, no comparison.

Here is the deal with Greenland.
In 4 months Greenland and its entire population of 55,000 are very likely to be an independent nation. At that point, given the land mass, geography, and resources, it will be exposed to extreme international pressure. Greenlanders will need a close ally/overseer. Russia and China would love to be that guy. That is what this is about.

The Danes screwed up bigtime in 2019 not engaging Trump. They pissed away hundreds of billions or more in a potential US purchase.

Thankfully other posters have already explained the flaws in your incredibly truncated perspective. Hopefully you have kept an open mind and accepted the input for consideration.

A much closer military and economic relationship between Greenland and the US is only beneficial for both regions. And keep in mind that Chini is the real threat behind the curtain. If we don't develop closer relations with Greenland, eventually Chini will be there in full force like they've already done in many Asian, African and Middle-Eastern nations.

Greenland would be 50th, ahead of Mississippi (based on 2024 numbers), by GDP per capita. Every other state would be higher than them.

Absolutely they are but in playing on a world scale having control controlling dominance of our country and areas leading to the continent matters. Security is the issue and having added resources is always better
