Is it awkward sitting at the thanksgiving or Christmas table with those partially formed kids?

You used to be able to move to Texas, but now Biden ruined it too.

White flight is mostly about neighborhoods instead of large geographic areas of America. You can move from a neighbohood becoming a dangerous ghetto to an all-white rural area and just drive 10 miles to your job without having to quit it. But you have to see it coming a few years early or you won't get any money selling your old house.

White flight already happened when poor southerners went north to work in the auto industries because there were jobs and they paid good money.

What state do you think is better?

All the states are part of the same country, so the politics will find you. Rather than argue what states are better we should be looking at what areas are better. There are great areas probably in every state, even in most cities. I live in Old Metairie, and I love it. I think I could find that in almost every state as long as I could tolerate the weather. I could also enjoy more rural living, and there are great areas for that all over the country. Generally, I think this country has a lot more run in it than most of the posters in this thread seem to think.

No, Immigration has gotten to the point where everyplace that has access to drivable jobs has gotten very diverse.

I went to Vermont a few months ago which is less than 2% black. The place was full of dot Indians. Maybe because I was in a ski town and they were tourists from Canada but the small town I was in was overrun.

There is not many places left to go unless you work from home or can retire.

I started the movement first by invading northern Illinois 21 years ago.

Surprisingly though my county is ruby red, lot of bubbas, and great corn fed deer to hunt. Easy to make friends and I’m also far enough from Shitcago where that culture hasn’t made it out here. They wouldn’t get a warm welcome.

Every state in the U.S. has shrinking white populations due to decreasing birth rates. The only state in the South with a negative domestic growth rate is Louisiana. You have it completely backward. The Sun Belt from the Carolinas to Arizona is the fastest growing region of the country.

I'm generally happy with the laws in Florida and don't have any where near the bullshite that goes on in California.

I can imagine. But living in Florida is a very broad category. By world standards, Florida is like a nation. Living in St Petersburg, Miami or Gainesville are very different experiences, and there is a lot of granularity to each one of those. I would guess that living just outside of Gainesville has more in common with living in a Shreveport, Louisiana suburb than it does with living in Miami.

Taxes are much much much better in Florida. Gone from one of highest income taxes, sales taxes and property taxes in the country to one of the lowest.

I can carry at any time at not have to worry. If someone breaks into my house, I can shoot them and instead of facing charges, my local police encourage me to do so.

The cost of living is also an extreme difference.

People mostly had common sense during covid here.

Sure there are good and bad areas in all cities/states. I use the WalMart philosophy(Dollar General also works if you don't have a WalMart near). Go to the WalMart and that will let you know what kind of neighborhood you're moving into.

I knew Florida had no state income taxes, but I figured their property taxes were high like in Texas. Is that not so?
